Hey, do we have the fantasy league set up already? Who's doing it? We could all chip in 5 bucks and the winner gets a sweet soccer ball or something?

True, but he actually passes more and seems to be more of a team player. Also he has stayed out of the tabloids

I have been waiting until we have a league to register. Not that there is any rush since games don't start for three weeks or so and trades are still in full swing.

Roma's market has been fantastic so far. Especially when considering that perhaps Napoli, Inter, and AC won't be as strong this year and Udinese has once again gutted their team, I truly believe we'll be seriously challenging for a CL spot this year. Quite a turnaround considering had the Americans not bought us, we'd have gone bankrupt last year.

Anyway, Balzaretti was made official today. I think he'll be a huge signing for us. We have a lot of young talent, and I think Balzaretti will be a fantastic bridge for the next two years or so while the youngsters grow. Not only is he a decent, consistent player, but he's a professional and should be a good locker room influence.

So far we've brought in Destro, Tachtsidis (who looks ready to become an absolute beast), Castan, Dodo, Piris, Bradley and Marquinho (loan + buy from last season). We're also supposedly incredibly close to bringing in Torosidis from Greece, who I also think would be a great signing, a la Balzaretti, just a few years younger still. And we'll probably bring in one more quality CB to round things off. Right now the rumor is Rhodolfo.

From our youth team, Florenzi definitely has potential to be a good player, but the one to really watch is Nico Lopez. Even uglier than his Uruguayan compatriot Suarez, but damn he's silky smooth with his left. This kid is going to be special.

Along with players like Pjanic and Lamela entering their second season and looking much improved and comfortable at Roma/Italy and Bojan actually looking confident for once, things are looking really good this season. The amount of young GOOD talent we have is ridiculous.

If nothing else, at least we'll be an entertaining squad, which is better than we were last year with Enrique.

Edit: Our market would be absolutely perfect if we could offload Rosi (who's refusing his transfer to Parma. We don't want you, gtfo. Honestly man, have you seen yourself play the past couple seasons? You're lucky ****ing Parma wants you.), Pizarro, and Borriello.

Hahaha there is literally no chance of RVP playing for ManU. He will be playing for Juventus or Arsenal will keep him, the latter of which is more likely.

You are joking yourself if you think RVP is going to ManU. Absolutely must be joking yourself.

EDIT: Unless you are getting your sources from Daily Mail or goal.com

Believe it or not RVP wants a good coach and a chance of winning everything. I hate admitting this, but ManU has a higher chance of champions league than juventus

And he looks better in red.

All aside, I don't really think he will come to ManU. It is a nice thought, but he is reportedly holding out for 190,000 per week. SAF has little reason to pay 15M or 20M or whatever to bring him in for the one year left on his contract. RVP has to commit to a multi-year deal to make this feasible, and I don't see ManU committing to 190,000 per week for an injury-prone striker. He may be worth it because I think that would go a LONG way toward swinging the balance of power in Manchester, but I don't see it happening this year. Besides, everyone can wait a year and pick him up for free. Well, there would be a bidding war based on wages, but not having to pay a 20M purchase price up front would pay his wages for a bit.

Tottenham is rearming itself and will be competing for a top 4 spot by the end of this year, ESPECIALLY if Modric stays. Chelsea has reloaded, Man City is Man City and Arsenal just had its strongest summer in YEARS, regardless of where RVP goes. Maybe Liverpool will regain form. Its going to be a dog fight up top, and De Gea better get his *** in gear if Man U wants to keep playing Champ League football. Oh, and Giggsy isn't going to come out of retirement to save that weak mid field again.

Juventus, on the other hand, just went undefeated in their domestic league. Milan just revamped the entire roster and the only good players they have left (Pato, Robinho) are disgustingly inconsistent. Inter is revamping by letting Forlan and Cesar go, along with Lucio. Napoli lost Lavezzi and are primed to lose Cavani at the January xfer deadline if he isn't unloaded by the end of summer. Juventus has very little competition in Serie A for the next few years. If Persie is looking to win trophies, I think you can pencil in Juventus for having a strong chance at winning a brace of trophys (domestic cup and league title). for the next few years. Both teams will pay him roughly the same (penny pincher owners).

Oh, and since Arsenal is coming off its strongest off season in the Wenger era and are poised to have a very strong season, I find it impossible that they are going to help a direct competitor fill a gap. Wenger knows the pressure is on now: He keeps losing his star players and captains because he is not winning trophies. This is his year to win a trophy, or else people are going to be calling his head even louder than they were about a year ago from now.
I agree with this, but I thought he wanted the CL. Also his wife likes England
