Automag Help

I'm new to paintball and don't know much about paintball guns. My friend give me a classic automag because he haven't played in a long time. The gun doesn't have a regulator or the black piece that goes on top of the regulator. Do I need that black piece or no? I see pictures of peoples automag and they have two hoses on the gun, one from the back of the bolt to the black piece of the top of the regulator, and another one going from the regulator going near the drop forward?

So do I need that black piece? If not what kind of regulator should I get? I was also planning on getting a drop forward on/off asa. Would I need to get two stainless steel hose?

The foregrip on an Automag is 1) just a foregrip 2) or a gas thru foregrip.

The back half of the valve is the regulator on an Automag.

A foregrip is not needed unless you prefer it.
