it's pretty much his facial expressions that bother me. some of the jokes he cracks are funny, others are stupid/try too hard :/

I was looking forward to Vancouver more than any other event this year .
The conspiracy Keanu in me thinks this was planned from the beginning by NPPL. Announce 5 events at the start of the year, knowing that PSP will have to match them and do 5 events as well. Neither league can afford 5 events, so this puts PSP in a tough spot. They can either cancel an event and piss off a bunch of teams, or run 5 events and potentially not be able to stay afloat. If that is the case, NPPL was pretty smart canceling the one event that would cause the least amount of backlash from players.
With NPPL running xball, and both leagues poaching staff, it's pretty clear they don't want to just continue coexisting together.

And if PSP wants to cancel an event, they pretty much have to decide between Jersey and Phoenix. With KEE being in Jersey, and the amount of teams in the northeast, it seems unlikely they'd cancel Jersey. But Phoenix is too close to cancel, being less than 2 months away. Too many teams will have already paid for flights/hotels/rental cars. If they cancelled Phoenix, it'd kill their credibility when announcing future events.

Speaking of Chicago, and rain, and PSP... I predict a massive QLCS event just before or during PSP Chicago, because it continues to be held in June.
March agenda:
March 7 - Space Shuttle Endeavour flight deck tour
March 9 - Space Shuttle Discovery roll to VAB
March 27 - Sun n' Fun begins

I just think Vancouver is a expensive event especially with gas prices on a ticket from San Diego to Vancouver is $500 + car + hotel + getting a passport ( if you don't have one)

I can tell you right now that the PSP can support 5 events. I think the NPPL knew the PSP was going to run 5 events, so they tried to do the same but found out they couldn't afford it.

Hey guys, was wondering if I could get some input from you all. I just recently got a tripod so I decided to venture into night time photography for the first time. There are weird patterns in the sky that came up when I uploaded to flickr but aren't in the photo in LR3 Here are my results:
Note: the moon was really bright, as in I could actually see when I walked outside with no lights on.
1. Do you guys know any way to reduce or avoid moon flare? That's my only gripe with the Tokina 11-16 is its prone-ness to flaring:

2. I tried light painting for the first time. I was both the photographer and light-writer this time. I take it my ghosts are there because I stood there for too long?

3. This came out oddly noisy, since my iso was only at 400. This is with noise reduction in LR3. Any tips for this type of shot would be great, I'm interested in getting this one right.

4. Again, moon flare. Not sure what to do at the moment. Also, this photo looks different on Flickr than it did in LR, where there's some weird line patterns going on. Not sure what these are. This is probably my favorite from the night

All shot with a D7000 and Tokina 11-16, exif should still be intact.
Also, if you guys have any links to wedding photography tips I'd appreciate it, my mom is getting re-married today (small, *<10 person wedding) and I'm the only "photographer" who's going to be there.

As always, lose any filters. If you've still got a bit of flare going on, then its a characteristic of the lens. All you can do is recompose to try and minimize it, and/or live with what you get and clone it out.

ISO400 alone won't be noisy. ISO400 on a long exposure and underexposed and pushed in post will be really noisy.
Shooting at night, you're going to want to check the histogram. The brightness on your LCD is going to make everything appear better exposed than it is, so you need to examine the luminance distribution directly. There's also no last minute saves in post, because like I said, pushing an underexposed night shot is a waste of time.

Thank you, your advice is worth a lot to me. I'll have to figure out how to clone out the flare as I'm new to PP. I'll try again tonight keeping what you said in mind. One last thing, do you have any idea on what the patterned lines are/where they are coming from?
