I got started playing paintball back in 01, and as a young impressionable tween an Angel was THE gun to shoot. Avalanche dynasty and naughty dogs where like gods among men walking around SC village....

Now as an adult I can shoot any marker I want but choose an Angel kinda as a tribute to the ones that came before me. Not to mention even my speed 5 shoots great even by 2012 standards. She's just a little chunky. But my a1 is my new love and I'm gonna turn that thing into a local legend. Not to mention the Angel community is extremely knowledgeable and really cool. Guys like doc spoil me with info to get my gun running, while in the dye forums some guy is upset that dye scratched his brand new marker and is leaving him holding the bag.

Can't say that I've really had an addiction to Angels, only because I didn't really see the point in owning more than one.

If I remember correctly, I've owned a total of three Angels, two of which where LCDs, and one A1.

Bought a LCD, sold it. Bought another LCD, sold it, and ended up buying an A1.

The only problem I have with my A1, is the lack of replacement parts, which may end up being a selling point for my A1.
I look at it this way... I've been waiting for close to one month, for two replacement seals for my A1. I mean, really? That long?

It's just unfortunate that APS went under, and parts are going to end up being scarce. If it's that hard to find replacement parts, then my time with Angel is limited.

On a side note though, I would LOVE to own some limited edition LCD Angels, although people are charging an arm and an leg for them, and that's just something that I can't justify spending my money on. (I'd rather buy a STR Ram, Magno, etc).

I think maybe hoarding is a better term than addiction. I am hoarding them, and parts Thats why I have all LCD/IR3's . All interchangeable.

Replacement parts are not THAT hard to find. You gotta do your homework and research.

I just bought 3 brand new MT valve stem for my g7 fly and that's all they had. Although pre a1 parts were mass produced a long time ago and now, they are dwindling down. A1 era parts are present but has not been mass produced for enough time. Overall, pre a1 and a1 era parts are both in the same situation. Finding a1 era parts should be no problem. Find and buy the crucial parts you need and your Angel will last a long time. Keep a constant lookout in B/S/T, eBay and the Internet.

i figure with orings, a valve seal or two (need to get them), i hope they can run for ever. Need a new board first though. 7th element seems to be promising. Hopefully they come through. That will bring alot of these old angels back to life.

Always nice when I drop into the forums after a while away and see a thread that could be about me. Down to just 16 angels now, debating selling off 10 or so more to clear some space in the new house.

Yeah but moving pneumatics and molded plastics like rams and bolts... will be hard to "recreate"...

just curious. Is this considered a soft face bolt?

ahh ok, yeah i see why those would be helpful preventing rollback onto the bolt. i wonder if a retrofit would be possible. Hmm. I have lots of spare stock bolts. time to get out the dremel.

It seems you would have to notch the face of the bolt from the inside to get any type of plastic/rubber grommet "fastened" to the bolt so it wouldn't fly down the barrel after the first shot. I'm not sure how the original ones were fitted but they never came off unless they'd gone through 50-100 case...

Exactly, if it wasn't for the rollback issue, we'd all be using lcd bolts and not giving a **** about it... but thats a big issue with performance that needs to be addressed or it's just an e-spyder, can't even classify it as an angel anymore...

now now now . They will never be e-spyders.

The reason I was considering the stock bolt is it has a number of holes. Could use 4 for a soft face aparatus, passing the rubber all the way back to the pin. Hmm. Time to bust out CAD, then dremel.
