Ok, so i just got this etek 2 in. As soon as I air it up, i hear a leak from the grips. So on went the stripping down, cleaning, lubing, and puting it all back together. No orings seemed damaged and all were lubed appropriately. Pressure should be fine. LPR is flush.

So now im at a stall, I though it was the gasket for the solenoid manifold but now after looking at the leak, i am thinking other wise. I will attach 3 pics with drawn in orientation markings to try and explain whats going on. The marker does cycle and it feels like its putting enough pressure out to throw a ball down the field. So i dont think the noids bad. What the heck could it be???????????

here the solenoid lays untouched and just straight up leaks. i can feel air blowing out towards the back end of the gun

when i pull down, the leak stops or is almost unnoticeable, but as soon as i release from pulling on this section the leak goes full blast again.

this area circled is where i believe the leak is coming from, forgive me for my poor line drawing skillz in paint

can anyone help me with this, or has anyone had the same problem. i am trying to avoid replacing the noid. hopefully its just the gasket but where the leak is coming from makes me think its not the gasket.

any help would be greatly appreciated! thank you!!!

no body?

Disregard!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Solenoid is shot

Apologies that I did not get to this sooner.

Sadly, just to confirm your suspicions, that solenoid looks horribly crushed between the grip screws.

new solenoid, I assume? that noid looks pretty deformed, I dunno what other solution there would be... if so, what did you do to fix the leak without replacing the solenoid?

this is the side of the noid that has the spool, as you can see there are 2 white dots in this pic. they are in the top left and bottom right corners. those white dots are not supposed to be there, they are supposed to be attatched to the other half of the noid. i guess the over tightening of the grip screws caused the noid to warp, i guess you could say. just enough to break a seal that helped hold the noid together. the only things that are now holding the noid together are the "c" clips.

a new solenoid is on the way though.

If you have a Dremel tool, what I would do is remove your grip frame from the body and screw the grip screws in all the way. Look at how many threads are protruding into the frame and could potentially damage the solenoid. Then trim them down. That'll prevent it from happening again... This was a fairly common problem with the ETek2's, but has since been fixed in the ETek3's. Speaking of which, I need to break down and rebuild my ETek3... just get it greased/lubed up.. standard maintenance stuff..

That Glen guy is pretty cool.

Glad I could help you see the light.

Now...if you would just order some short grip screws from Glen ...you would be all set...

You don't need to go to home depot...they are easy enough to get.

HI

Does the etek solenoid work in the 06 ego? If so will need one as mine is leaking , but the gun still works fine, albeit, leaking air! And does the 06 only work properly on an LPR bottle, or can i use a normal steelie?
