What paint are you using?
Is it really cold outside?
Is your gun properly tuned?

Any ups to your marker? If you have a barrel with different bores, what size were you using?
Your in Michigan, so what was the temp?
Which bolt do you have?

To the OP:
what are you using for a hopper? The feedstack tension may be to high causing the paint to crack / break before it reaches the breech. Try turning down the hopper tension

Evil can be pretty brittle. If the hopper can't be adjusted, you may try a Cure3+ or Cure4 bolt. Pooty51 can mod them to make them even better.
The guy I bought my Etek3 from upgraded to a Pooty modded Cure3+ because he was breaking paint with the Cure1. I have shot several types of paint through mine with no issues. I have even put paint through mine that has broken in my friends Mini, and G4. Mine shot it fine.

The first things I check when guns are having paint issues.
Paint to barrel/bore. This can cause issues if the paint is out of round, too small a bore is used.
Detents: If the detents are bad it can lead to double feeds or cause the paint not sit properly in the breach resulting in issues.
Loader force/speed: too fast, too much force can all cause more brittle paint to crack as it's being fed resulting in what appears to be a chop.
Marker battery: Dead or dying batteries can cause and have caused all kinds of funky issues.
Marker settings: if you aren't comfortable with tuning reset the gun to stock settings. LPR and electronic settings then recheck velocity.
those are the easiest and most common issues. if it's equipment.
Otherwise the paint can be too brittle for the conditions, too old. etc.
Try a drop test with the paint
paint issues and loader settings IMO are the most common.

You could try increasing the eye delay.
If you are comfortable with adjusting your marker, you could try increasing dwell and then lowering LPR and/or HPR pressure.

Is this a brand new marker or used? Make sure it's in default settings. Also make sure that the paint you're using is appropriate for the season. What bore size are you using?

With the Z2, you could try a lower speed setting (I believe the default setting is 3), you could also try setting the clutch to slip at a lower force.
