Aaron,

Keep me, as well as everyone else, updated on how this all plays out and how much participation we get from students. I've been playing paintball for about 5 years now and I'd love to finally get a collegiate team together for my last two years at The University of Iowa. I wasn't able to attend the first meeting you guys had in May, but I am definitely interested in being a part of this.

On that same collegiate note, the jersey designs on the website look awesome and I'd love to get one when available.

You should stop by the org fair and say hi!. I am working it from 11:30 to 12:30, and 1:30 to 2:30. Just look for the guy wearing a bunch of paintball gear! Additionally, we are having a meeting on Thursday, august 30, sometime in the evening. You will get an email about it

lewis, sounds like a deal. I will pm you when I start ordering the second round of jerseys. they will be ordered sometime in late september. They take a long time to come in (i ordered the first round in early august and they were just shipped a few days ago). Chances are the order will all come to me, I will contact you when it comes in, then I will mail it to you

Hey everyone! We had our official first outing today! 2 guys that have never played paintball got a chance to have a lot of fun and play this great sport for a fraction of the cost thanks to this club. To me, that alone makes it a successful day. On top of that though, we had our first practice and it went very well.

Due to some communication issues, our home field as switched from adventure park paintball in cedar rapids ia, to velocity paintball in west liberty, ia. We do offer open practice so anyone can come practice with the team for $20 (field admission and air). We hopefully will have our airball field out there soon.

Our jerseys came in and they look fantastic! We are going to be getting a second order started as soon as I have a head count. This means that anyone interested in a jersey must tell me. The price for non-team members is $150+shipping for a blank jersey (no name, number, or sponsors). Here are the pics!

hey aaron, its myles tornow. Are you able to get apx paint from them at a discounted price for practices? I shot it at my local field this weekend and it was pretty decent even for their field quality.

Hey everyone! Here's the update! We have currently had 2 practices so far and they've been great. Our first one was at our new home field at Velocity Paintball in West Liberty, IA. Our second practice was with the team at Augustana College on their reball field. They are a great group! Spoiler alert for those of you in the area, we are currently working on getting an airball field to Velocity! It will be the club's responsibility so it will be set up on open play days at velocity. The club will charge a small admission fee to use it, just to cover the cost of gas and wear&tear on the field. I will let everyone know when we get it.

Second, A part of the team will be attending the 3-man tournament up in waterloo, IA at KW Paintball. It looks like it will be fun, and this is the first tournament for all of us on that team, so we are ready to go out and have a good time, and get some experience.

Lastly, we are setting up an account through the alumni foundation here on campus. Apparently, anyone who donates to the club through the foundation gets tax cuts so when I know more information, I will be happy to share.

I also forgot to mention that we ended up with 12 competitive players and 6 recreational players this year bringing our first year club roster to 18 members. not bad for a first year club

you are eligible to join the club and go to our outings, but you cannot compete at NCPA tournaments until you are an Iowa student. you can compete at any other tournaments we attend though

Out of curiosity this field that you would be operating at Velocity, would you be charging admission along with the field fees that are charge by velocity? Furthermore, would it be BYOP of FPO through Velocity? I'm going to start playing again, and as a University of Iowa student I would love to play with you guys.

Hey everyone, sorry I took so long to post again, but here's the update! We competed for the first time at MWN #2 at PbExplosion in Illinois. We tied for 6th/11 teams but lost in the technicality so we were unable to progress to the playoffs. We are hoping to attend MWN #3 but I am unsure if we will be able to.

I don't know if I officially listed all of our sponsors, but I feel like I should so they are:

Lastly, our club has been able to set up a UI Foundation account through the University. This allows us to accept donations to the club. All donations are 100% TAX DEDUCTIBLE!!!!! It would be greatly appreciated if any amount is donated. As we all know, this sport is very expensive, and I would love to be able to provide a buffer for those who want to play but maybe cant afford it normally. Any donations would go towards paint, travel and lodging expenses, field equipment and tournament fees. This is very important for us since the university is not very fond of paintball... (they aren't very willing to let us fund raise on campus)

do you guys have practices. ive been trying to start a team for kirkwood but no luck for me i cant find enough people that are interested so i decided to make a new team if you have annybody that doesnt go iowa and needs a team just tell them to pm me the 3 of use have already have a couple of practices so things are looking good good luck this spring guys.

We try to practice every weekend though its hard during winter. when it gets a bit warmer, we will start going to velocity again. Feel free to join us when we start practicing there again
