Anyone buying the PS Vita?

I am really on the fence about buying this and just wanted to know how others felt about it.

Looking at getting the 3G Launch package because of the PSN game and 8GB memory card.

I may pick one up like a year from now if it's still got developer backing and the price is a bit lower.

Sony and their proprietary memory cards make me want to punch a ****ing baby however, I mean $60 for a 16gb flash card?

I'm going to wait until it gets more than 5 hours of battery life and the loading times of games is cut down a lot.

I'll buy one until Steve Jobs introduces the iPhone.

In all seriousness though, smartphone games are becoming pretty graphically rich and advanced compared to when the psp came out. And when i can buy a game for $5 compared to $60, I'm all for it.

I know the PS Vita is still going to have better graphics and the games will be more like consoles games, but it's still not worth it to me. I don't need to pay $250 to have better graphics when I take a poo.

I'm very tempted to honestly. I have about $50 in giftcards and I can probably sell my DSi for about $75 so the out of pocket cost shouldn't be too bad.

Before my current job I would have had no need for it but with a hour long lunch every day, might as well have something to entertain myself.

If i was still in middle school id be all over it like i was the original PSP...but i agree smart phones take A LOT away from portable gaming. Now if the Vita doubled as a smart phone....we'd be talking.

It looks great, and Uncharted alone makes me want it.

I just don't see myself using it too much after Uncharted so I'm staying away.

havnt bought a handheld system since the og gameboy. If you cant keep yourself occupied while not sitting in front of a TV then youre definitely doing something wrong.

I played one a few days ago. **** was a lot of fun. Fifa played way better than I thought and Uncharted was fun. I just cant justify purchasing one for that much. Definitely a really nice piece of technology though.

Thumbs up getting one

Ill be picking one up. It seems really sick. I havnt played one yet but ive just been watching vids of the asia version on youtube. The ability to remote play *some* ps3 games will be awesome. SOME being the keyword, as of now it seems not many are compatible but I think if the vita takes off more developers will make more ps3 games remote playable via the vita. That and the OLED screen are awesome... OLED is just awesome. I also dont entirely agree with the people saying that smart phones are taking over portable gaming. Yeah their good for little games like angry birds, which are like dollar games that last an hour before getting boring. Id rather put a little bit more cash into a game that has real controls (joystick/triggers..ect) and that will last a bit longer.

Thats kind of my way of thinking too. I play these simple games on my phone (angry birds to zenoia 4) but I am always wanting something a little more in depth than the simple touch controls.

Bought it today on impulse and after trading in my dsi and games (which have been sitting in a closet for the past few months. .

Bought uncharted for it and want to get lumines but I also kind of want to take advantage of gamestops buy 2 get one free deal. The only issue is that lumines isn't on that list (bastards!).

Right now I'm debating whether I should get a second game with uncharted and get some title free then pay for lumines separately. If I were to get another game my choices are modnation racers, wipeout, hotshot golf, and little deviants.

I'm tempted to go with modnation racers and wipeout but the reviews on wipeout are meh at best.

Nvm, just realized best buy is running the same promotion. I'm going to return Uncharted to gamestop and buy it back with lumines and rayman at best buy.
