Nice. Cool to find out for sure that it was done manually - that's a very nice job for a manual machine. I guess that's what I get for never trusting anything I read online

Okay guy sorry to bring this back up again but I wanna start this project now, but I'm not sure where to start. I'm thinking about searching for a A4 for the blank or do you all think I should get something with a little more meat on it, next I like to know if you guys think I should put eyes on it because if I do I'm gonna have custom eye covers made for it and do any of you know of a machineshop that will work with paintballers because when I brought this project too most machine shops in my area they just look at me like I'm crazy, so far the only 1 I can think of this doc up in alaska but I see he doesn't have any cnc machines so this might take a long time to do my hand. So Any thoughts people?????

I am not sure how much extra metal is on the A4 generation. You are probably going to have to find a stock 2k LCD.

I would definitely try to find a stock 2000 or 2001 LCD if you can - it's the meatiest platform you're going to find and will offer you the most opportunity for cosmetic milling.
There's a list of companies offering milling services to the paintball community in the Voided Warranty section, but more than half of them have been out of business for years. Might still be worth a look: http://www.pbnation.com/showthread.php?t=2197820 . I think Tarantula and Elia are still doing work. Looks like Ballers Inc is still around too. From what I've heard, Doc Nickel up in Alaska is usually slower than the 2nd coming, but he might be able to take your work as well. A full service machine shop would probably not want to waste their time on such a small project, but if you can find a local hobbyist or customizer with some free time they might be able to help you out as well. If you've got a local community college with a machine shop, ask the faculty if they know of anyone.

I was thinking that myself since I want a raised embosed tribal dragon on both sides of the solanoid area.

There was a black stock lcd on ebay...It disappeared tho after I asked the gent selling it why it was back up after it quite matter of fact sold. He said this in his response "I was selling it for a friend, if he still has it I will let you know" And then a day later the auction ended with no further response. That would have been a perfect body.

I've got a stock black 2000 angel I'd sell for the right price. I don't know what they go for these days.

Elia might be a better bet. Tarantula is a pretty busy guy. I've been trying for over a year to get him to UL mill an imp for me but he doesn't have the time.

How are you guys doing that, I did like Doc suggested and looked through the voided warranty suction and found a thread titled "Need something milled look here", it has links to a number of machine shops but Doc was right about that most of them are out of business. At the top of my list to call on monday is Tarantula Just for the fact that they have a cnc machine and CAM and CAM programs and should cut down a milling time plus you gotta respect guys that will go skydiving naked and will post the pictures of it, LOL. Here's the link to the thread.

Tarantula has a reputation for taking forever and finally not sending back parts, there was a connection with a member in the AKA forum where he was doing middle man work. Though I dont know the details, that went sour and a lot of members were pissed. WHy not look at local machine shops?

Well that's the sad strange thing of it because I live in a small to midsize city with tons of machine shops and lots of machinists, problem is all of the machine shops and most of the machinist just don't respect or know enough about paintball and I should know I'm a former machinist.

Marc(tarantula) has a section on impulse-owners.com I'm also trying to get him to make me a predator body but it's the same situation with that one.
