Dont want to spend too much, but give me your thoughts on what i must do specifically to this marker. I have already heard that i should swap out the macro-fittings, trigger...Let me know...Thanks

Dunno who told you to swap out the macro-fittings but neuter him before he breeds

You want to get the best performance out of that gun, use any cash you have to go play paintball so that the user can be fine tuned.

YOU and only you decides how effective that gun can be, and any time you lose a game it's user error. and no matter which gun you own, if you suck you suck. If you suck with the G3, you're going to such with an ego.

barrel and if you must oled board. If you think you need get a techt bolt for it.. my order would be barrel, bolt, tank, loader, and last if you plan on keeping forever then board.
The barrel tank and loader can go with all your markers unless you buy a non cocker threaded one

I'd find a better user. Not to insult you out of malice, but if you are new enough to believe macro fittings should be replaced then I can't see you having played for very long.

If you don't already KNOW what you want then you don't need it. Only when you find yourself dissatisfied with something should you consider changing it.

Fact is your gun is over 9000 times better than anything I had when I was growing up and I found as the years went by and as guns got better and better it never had much of an impact on how skilled I was.

EDIT: I started out with a spyder, next I bought an ion and since then I have owned a freestyle, 3 shockers, an ego, an intimidator, a DM6, and a superstock w/ E2; none of those were all that different from the ion. Each had character, but none of them really stood out as something I can't group with the ion as far as simple performance goes.

Focus less on upgrades, more on playing. Try playing games with just the hopper, no pod pack. Will really increase your skills.

I carry my pod pack mostly so I can refill my hopper between games so I can jump on the next game without having to go back to refill paint and miss out.

I think the OP was talking about replacing the macro fittings that came with the g3 stock with new ones because some of them were garbage. Not replacing the macro with a braided hose completely.

To the OP I wouldn't replace the macro fittings unless they've leaked on you before. I'm still using the macro fittings that came with my g3 and they've held up fine. As far as upgrades go the TechT bolt engine does wonders for the g3. You'll get much better efficiency as well as a smoother shot. Trigger is just preference so it's up to you. That's the only upgrade I'd recommend unless you plan on keeping the gun for a long time. Then you could look at upgrading the board to an OLED board like the APE or 7th element boards.

Like someone has already said. I wouldn't focus on upgrades I'd focus on playing.

upgrading the bolt or the board always helps. Pooty51 does some with with polishing bolts that makes them a little smoother and drops the dwell just a tad bit. also a more comfortable trigger helps. and i agree with the above. better barrels. stock ones aren't always the best. there are some really nice carbon fiber barrels out there that are light and accurate. deadly wind makes one that takes the freak barrel bores.

Yes, Deadly winds barrels are amazing but you are going to spend $100 for the barrel and that is without any inserts.

I'd upgrade the barrel and bolt, and nothing else unless you plan to keep it.

But mostly, I'd get out and play, play, play....

Then see what YOU want to upgrade.

you dont even need ups if your saving for money. only a barrel comes to mind, but im not positive if it comes with a nice one or not. scepter kits are very nice and run around 60 for a full set

tl;dr

From what I hear the macro fittings that come from the factory are a bit tough to get the house out of. IF you really must upgrade the bolt and the barrel. After you learn the feel of the gun then do other upgrades like the board.

Macro fittings on all dp guns seem to be a little weak, but that's nothing a little tugging can't fix. Personally, I'd leave it stock. For the most part the era of must have marker upgrades is over. For the most part. Bolt and board maybe, but most markers come from factory stock with great regulators, feedbacks, boards, lprs if they have them.

Dont upgrade untill you need it, your putting money out for something you don't need to the fullest extent. Save your money, and when you want to upgrade think of a marker upgrade. Play, Practice, Have fun
