Process for becoming a certified technician?
My family uses PE markers exclusively, and I was wondering what the process was to become a certified (or factory trained) technician?
I tried to find more information on the official site, but didn't have any luck.
Does anyone know where I can find more information?
Thanks!

I believe, Nicky, Gerry, or Mr Woods will correct me if I'm wrong, they only offer certification to authorized retailers and service centers.

I guess that makes sense... although, I wonder if there's some business case for not allowing individuals to take a course (perhaps at some cost) to become certified techs at some level.
Owning as many PE guns as I do, it would be worthwhile to me.

It's honestly just a gimmick. Anyone can become proficient at fixing paintball guns, you don't need a course to do so.

Anyone can fix a car too, but you need a license to call yourself a mechanic.

Cars are not paintball guns, that argument has been beaten to death. Working on cars also deals with the safety of the general public. Nice try, but no dice.

Well. No ****... But that's not the point I was making. The point I'm making is that being a licensed _____ (whatever it is... Put hairstylist in there or whatever) means that people that don't know you can know that you've at least received some level of training in whatever it is... Yes, you can learn to do any of these things without a license...

Squares...
Give me a call and we'll have a chat. I can teach you the knowledge you seek...but the others are mostly correct as far as certification. Formalized training with certification is limited to Paintball Extravaganza...which is an industry representative only conference where formal training classes are held. This is the only means of acquiring that certificate.
If you would like to chat...you can call me at 401-289-2832.

Thanks for the information Gerry... I'll talk to my contacts at my local field to see if I can work something out. Hope to meet with you next week.

Hey Gerry,
I actually worked things out with my local field, and they agreed to bring me on as an off-site PE tech. Unfortunately, we couldn't get the paperwork together in time and I couldn't make it out to Leesburg today.
How are the courses run? Is there a presentation that I could review (understanding that I wouldn't be certified).
Is it safe to assume that the next time I will be able to take this and get certified will be at next year's event?
Thanks for any info.
Steve
