DM11 Reg Question

How many turns out of the adjustment screw on the Hyper3 reg gets the velocity to 300+? I have mine out all the way and my gun is only shooting in the 270s. I don't trust my chrono though either. BUT in case my chrono is accurate, is there a common fix for this to get the velocity up higher? Thanks. My LPR is at 3.5 to 4 turns out and my dwell is at 20ms. It was at 18 so I upped it with no results. I also put in a fresh battery. Thanks.

Wes,

I know you already stated this, but it sounds like your battery. It also wouldn't be a bad idea to clean and re-lube your Hyper3 Regulator along with your Bolt System.

Set your Dwell @ 21ms.
HPR @ 5 Turns-Out.
LPR @ 3 Turns-Out.

Hopefully this helps.

Definitely dwell at 21ms, I hate to say it, but some Matrix's are mega picky on their dwell in my glorious experiences.

Smarts is right too, definitely check the hpr and lpr o-rings for the heck of it. Pistons gotta be workin' right

Can't hurt to check the bolt sail and make sure it's in good shape and sealing correctly and consistently. Maybe peek at the bolt tip o-ring too for good measure.

Mmmm, clean and lube your bolt medium-lightly, just to ensure the freshness of the whole troubleshooting maintenance you just performed, and then slap a MEGA FRESH KING of a battery like these in there and you're golden.

So golden.

What makes you guys say dwell of 21ms opposed the stock setting of 18? I know there aren't any leaks internally so I'm assuming all the o-rings are sealing 100%. I will try another battery (the one I used was in the package still but old).

You feel that 3 turns out of the LPR is a solid setting? I believe stock is 4. Thoughts? Thanks for the good input. I will take care of my reg and get another battery for safe measure before I get to use a 100% accurate chrono this weekend.

A Dwell of 21ms is a setting that most of us DM guys use to allow us to drop our LPR Pressure. To which you have more consistent shots over the chronograph, with minor fluctuations.

I can say that LPR @ 3 TO is a good place to start, I have personal and other persons markers that operate at 2 TO. Personally 4 TO, is a little high and kicks too much for my liking. You are right that it is the Stock setting, but the marker can function just fine at 3 TO.

It's your choice to do what you please.

Used a solid chrono this weekend and good paint with a fresh battery. The gun cannot get out of the 280 FPS range. I asked a DYE gun tech at the field and he said DYE limits the amount of pressure you can adjust the regulator to. He said you can add an extra shim into the Hyper 3 reg to be able to raise the input pressure slightly higher to get the gun to shoot 300fps. Anbody heard of or done this before?

I've never heard of installing another shim in a Hyper3 when yours already comes with 9shims. I have never done this. I would check your shim stack in both your LPR & HPR and make sure that they are in the correct order.

I would consult with Dye Facility with adding an extra shim, but in my case I would see a serious over pressurization of the solenoid.
