T2 operating pressure?
anyone know what the reg should be set at on a CCM T2? i test fired mine yesterday and i had some crazy shots going on. and the paint was matched perfect to my barrel (deadly wind kit) i dont have a chrono, but i'll be picking one up soon

350PSI... 300 it shoots hot with the IVG turned all the way out to the back cap. Anything lower than 300 on the reg, it'll vent down the barrell after a couple shots. at 350 your shooting 280-290fps with the IVG all the way out.

I think 350 psi is a nominal pressure for the reg but IVG position depends on spring rate/age. Mines 3 1/2 to 4 turns out from the bottom and hits 277-288 feet per second.
Papa- might want to find a looser spring. Not saying you are one of those jackwads that intentionally shoots hot but you really want your adjustability to go down in velocity, not up. Just a humble suggestion for safety and to keep anyone from pointing nasty fingers at you.

if he needs to go down in velocity he can always turn the reg up a little bit,My gun is the same way. i never shoot over 290 but ocasionally i get some tight paint and have to turn the reg pressure up. I like keeping my ivg near the back.

I must have a looser spring than I thought. If I run out that far on the spring my hammer tends to fall a little short. User preference I guess.

I run my 6.5 (same thing) at 300 psi and the IVG one turn from flush.

yup, if I find i'm shooting hot, I'll take off the back cap and turn the ivg out one to 2 turns.. usually I can get it down to 260.
My field limits are 290 but yeah, I don't like messing with the reg after it's set. I could turn it up a little, that would help efficiency a bit....

each gun's sweetspot can be a little different.
also what does "paint matched perfectly" mean? if you sized the bore exactly to the paint that leads to the largest fluctuations.

Keep the pump hand strong

Oblongish balls or perfectly round? Many paintballs these days have a sub-round shape to them, so they'll hold in a barrel a few steps larger than "perfect". Of course the it comes down to ball fragility. If a ball can squeeze into that tighter bore, you should get a hotter shot, but if it's too stiff, it will drag significantly. Sometimes, depending on how the ball falls into place, it can seal better or worse as well.

Dr. G is right. All guns have their own pressure/ spring tension requirements. All springs, even though they're the "same" from CCM have varying tensions. My 6.5 can't chrono to speed at any input pressure unless the IVG is 3 1/2+ turns in. My T2 chronos hot unless the IVG is backed almost completely out.
"Perfect" paint to barrel match has been shown to give a lot of velocity fluctuations. For pump, you most definitely want to be giving a tight squeeze on paint.
When was the last time you lubed your HPR? I've noticed that CCM regs tend to become temperamental very quickly without regular greasing.
Papapump, you can't trust that one day's pressure settings will be good on the next outing. Temperature and all other variables cause changes. That's the whole point of chronoing in the first place...

We recommend 350.
