State Tax Return question..figured this was a good sub-forum to ask it!
I filed my Federal tax return using H&R Block's online/free service (since I make so little) a few weeks back and mailed it in about two weeks ago. I noticed when I printed the original package of documents they provided me with (Federal return paperwork to attach W-2s to and mail in, as well as State paperwork to mail in) there was bold lettering covering all of the pages of the state return that told me I needed to wait.
So, like I said above, I only mailed in the federal with the necessary documents attached, and although I have not received a response for the federal, I was curious as to when/what to do the state?
What is says on H&R's website when I log in and check status:
"Federal return: Printed for filing
Michigan: Ready to file - File federal first"
Any advice/comments/suggestions/information is appreciated. I really don't want to screw up my filing, as the money is needed at this time.
