questions about viking

picked up an older viking. just about brand new in box, if you can believe that.
serial# 437
blind
custom anno

came with aka bag and some barrel tips. also had the warranty card and the settings for increased rate of fire. dont know what board, but im sure someone can tell me that.

have a few questions:
if i read correctly (i searched for instructions), you cant change the settings on the stock board without the cable, correct?
what is lpr pressure if there is no external lpr?
any harm in just picking up the ebisu tadao board for it, to be able to change the settings?

thanks for any info or help.

If it has a green board it would be a nelson and can only be adjusted with the cable.
The LPR pressure would be the same 70 PSI.
No harm in picking up the Tadao for it.

I'm assuming you won the auction on ebay for the beautiful black/rainbow splash Viking.

Yes, you need the cable to change the settings on the stock Nelson board.

There IS an LPR, it is the adjustable allen screw on the front of the gun. You need a special gauge tool to check the pressure.

No harm at all in picking up a replacement board.

yeah. came in today. he wasnt lying. it looks brand new.
after i typed this out, i saw the allen screw on the front of the lpr, luckily i have access to lpr gauge, so i can check it. but i wont mess at all with it.

not too many board for sale for a viking. so probably get the tadao for it, and just have a shooter for rec ball.

thanks for the info guys.

Nice pick up. I believe the LPRs were set to 90 PSI stock. After shooting a few cases through it to break it in you can lower it to 72 PSI (with a gauge tool of course).

I spoke to Jay, the owner of the shop after he pulled the original listing because he accidentally had it listed as an Excal. He told me they got a number of guns (Vikings, Excals, Merlins) from team DNA, who used to be sponsored by AKA, and they would be slowly listing them on eBay. He mentioned a couple of them were missing a few parts, and he was trying to get a hold of Aaron for the parts to put them back together before selling them. He hadn't heard of DC so I sent him their way and hopefully Jared has the parts to take care of him. There's currently a round body Merlin listed that's ending Sunday. FYI he agreed all the guns would be sold through auction and he would not be selling any of them early (already tried that).

you can also acquire an rmod pandora board or a was 1.6 or 2.0 board. all of those will do the trick for a lower price.

LOL, Please don't tell too many people about this, I am bidding and have to have this Merlin!! It looks exactly like the merlin I bought at Skyball 2000 and was foolish enough to sell in 2005.

You can still use a WAS board (1.6 or 2.0), it just requires a higher dwell setting to operate effectively. Start at 17ms for a MAC noid.
