I'm considering the gameday audio for my cell phone this season.

listen to every game even at work? yes please.
That sucks. I don't live in NY and won't get Yankee games on TV so I was kind of excited that mlb.tv was coming to xbl. Guess I have to expand my programming again to get YES network.

Yea, local sports get blacked out.

It was kind of ghey for me when I was in Hawaii because all west coast teams got blacked out.

So what are everybody's prediction. Specifically, who are going to be the two teams in the WS?

I'm thinking Phillies or Brewers against Angels or Tigers.

I think the Yankees should win the AL, they've had the offense, now with Pineda and Kuroda added to the rotation they have the pitching. NL is a bit more of a toss up, but I'll guess Phils or Giants.

Or the Mets.

Yankees v. Giants.

If it is Yankees-Giants, I'd say Yanks in 5.

With the Giants pitching I'd say Giants in 7. Unless Yanks can bat it out.

Bat it out? The Giants offense is bad on its own, facing a trio of CC-Pineda-Kuroda, the Yankees should only need to score 2-3 per game. As good as SF's pitching is I'm fairly confident the Yankees can do that with relative ease.

The Giants will be better this year though. They got hit pretty hard by injuries last year.

Uh, sure.

Posey is still playing catcher which means he's going to miss time with days off. And Sandoval is, supposedly, 20lbs heavier than when he ended the season.

And thats the Giants' offense right there.

Fukudome sucks. Sox are just hoardin cash now. Still can't believe kenny williams has a job. Done nothing but blow money on bad players since they won the WS.

I'd love to have a .374 OBP from one of my outfielders ...

White Sox play in a sandbox sized field. OBP is nice, but they need power and hr's, especially playing in the american league. Their pitching almost certainly will take a dip this year and unless rios and dunn improve significantly and Viciedo can play well, its going to be a llllllooooooong year.

Yea. OBP is how you make solo shots in to multiple run homers ....

If Fukodome had been the Nats starting CFer last year, the Nats would have one 85 games instead of 80. Just saying.

They got him cheap and he will produce. He may not have sexy power numbers that you want, but he will get on base and play decent defense.

Unless Rios ****s the bed again, I'd expect that Fukudome won't play very much. Viciedo is going to get his chance and De Aza was good after getting called up last year. Its nice to have the option though. And if Dunn blows dick again they could DH viciedo/rios and have fukudome play then while Dunn collects his money from the bench and can't hurt the team.

No idea who is going to win, but it isn't going to be the Mariners.

just looked him up, his OBP was only 342 last season. Brent Lillibridge, the sox current utility guy, had an almost identical BA/OBP with 5 more hr's and a waaaay better slugging percentage....

OOps ... just read the Cubs stats

Lillibridge had way fewer plate appearances. He walked at a 7.9% rate and struck out at a 28.7% rate (Kosuke Fukudome was 10.1%/18.2%) Lillibridge has a history of 25+% strikeout rate. He doesn't walk much.

Fukodome is a better player for what the White Sox are trying to do. Konerko will be back. So will Dunn (and he will improve). They want Fukudome to be the patient, annoying hitter he always has been so the Sox can get in to the bullpen and crush the ball.

Hopefully Yu can boost the pitching staff for Texas. I feel like Holland will have a breakout year. He did really well the second half of last year. Feldman was also looking good coming out of the bullpen. I'm not sure if he's going to be a starter or what though.
