Are kneepads REALLY necessary with padded pants though? I have a pair of 2012 Empire Contact TW pants, and the padding on them is insane.

Thin jerseys for sure. Our team went with the Raza MKR jerseys and they look awesome but I much prefer playing in one of my old smart parts cxbl jersey. Thin jersey and pads underneath is the way to go

I just wear a dye pants with kneepads, slider shorts and jersey with the padded under jersey. Get many bounces, sometimes i wear a neck protector too, depends on my job. My philosophy is protect yourself as best as you can, don't be Rambo and think pain or injury is not an issue.

I use valken fates for warm weather instead of protos, but other than that I use empire ltz's, a t-shirt, and elbow pads.

I wear my "Angel Pants" with "Proto Knee Pads" underneath for those extra hard dives into the bunkers and don't feel a thing. As for my top, "Angel Jersey" with "Planet Eclipse Elbow/Forearm Pads".

Yes! I highly recommend the Franklin softball knee pads from Walmart.. they're $6 and they're a total lifesaver.

They're actually $3 online which is a steal.. http://www.walmart.com/ip/Franklin-S...-Pads/17299981

I don't know about most people, but if I am kneeling down on my knees, it's just completely uncomfortable. I wear my Dye C10 pants (which have some padding on the knees) and the Franklin pads and it's amazing.. I literally don't feel any pain and it's very comfortable.

The pads really are amazing.. they don't move after a full day of speedball even when you're diving and sliding into bunkers..

I wear empire pants, jerseys and knee pads. The pads on the jerseys have saved me a few times when a ball bounced on my fore arm rather than broke. The knee pads are so I can go down hard on my knees and NOT hurt myself. So far I don't think the pants have saved me at all. Mostly I like the empire pants because they fit me as I'm tall.
