Wrong place. go to old school small talk and post in the FDT (Fire arms discussion thread)
Heres the link to the forum:
http://www.pbnation.com/forumdisplay.php?f=372
The thread is usually in the first 10 threads.

As for the no 30rnd mags in MD, you just can't purchase or sell 30 rnd mags in MD, but you can go to PA or VA and buy all the 30 round mags you want...its stupid. you can own, just not sell or purchase in MD. I wish I knew more about AR-15 manufactueres but I couldn't tell you who is the best bang for you buck, but im sure somehere can.

Goes along with the whole "You can possess a handgun in several states at 18 but cant buy one, or the ammunition"

If you're in MD - check out Fulton Armory. You can order a 5.56 chambered, mil-spec barrel M4 and go pick it up in-store. That's where I got mine, great quality rifle.
Go to PA or VA in your case, and pick up a few 30rd magazine and bring them back over. That's what I did.

wow. that is stupid. would it be legal if i went down to georgia to buy my ar-15(have a friend whose dad is an ffl dealer and he gets certain rifles at cost, so id get it super cheap if i got it from him) so is that legal? and transport it just like the state of MD wants(unloaded and locked in a casse)?

I bought my AR-15 in Virginia, but because I have orders to Andrews AFB in Maryland, I had to ship it to a MD FFL dealer. Even though I live, and work in VA...Still had to go through MD, so I'm asuming it will be the same for you.
