it is possible that it can happen due to the screw being over tightened. With the cast aluminum eye covers the G4 has makes it that much more possible. ONly other time i have seen it happen is with the FX having it that screw too tight as well..

It does mention in the instructions not to over tighten the eye covers. That's probably all that happened.

If you can find replacement eye covers in various colors, post it up here. Also, nope, both eye covers are still on here.

Off topic but will a g4 reg fit a g3? Are there better regs out there?

The G3 takes any standard reg threads. Also the G3 has a very reliable reg...

use the stock reg, please don't fall for the cp reg is better than the dp regulator thing.

I shoot a 1 of 1 g3 se and still use the stock regulator on it, it is easy to maintain, very consistant and very reliable regulator...
No need to waste your money, just make sure yours has the red reg seat and you are golden....

lil better..oring for impact absorb

Having the same cover broke 4 eye covers an knw its not me over tightening cause they broke straight out of dps factory..anyhow the screw being too tight does affect it but it needs to be snug or it'll break anyway from the force going thru..anyway I went to dp and asked the dude if there was any way to absorb the impact of the screw n eye cover.we solved this by putting a very small oring on the screw under the eye cover between gun n cover n have not broken a cover since...however if you have any bolt mods the detents will stick out a lil so make sure when cutting detents not to cut them too short.....

Yea I believe in the manual under the maintenance section It says somewhere like on th pic or in caption to be careful not to over tighten.atleast in the fx manual. Sorry my last reply was poorly written. But basically I kept breaking eye covers to and thought there has to be a way an I put a very small oring barley big enough the screw goes through very snug( eye cover screw) an I put it under the eye cover on the marker frame n for me its work wonders..however that oring prohibits to eye cover from being completely snug so the detents when in the gun may sag a lil but only a concern If you have any bolt besides dp bolt factory bolt works great but I got a hush bolt n after the detents trimming n my lil eye cover fix I noticed to be careful when cutting detents a lil at a time you cam always recur if its too long but can't if its too short

dps great

I knw its a bummer having to pay for a new eye cover n shipping is pretty bs but did you have a warranty????? Id say give em a chance parts break all the time in all guns n especially higher end guns will be costly I knw if you have your warranty still they'll take care of it.I've gone through this problem n it sucked but the service dp provided n the equipment itself is one of the best, and at the end of the day I'm still shooting some lasers..
