I've always considered it, but man is it expensive.

My Bio teacher got it done, and went from being almost legally blind to better than 20/20 vision.(Said the chart they used had up to 20/15 and he read that perfectly.)

Hope your appointment goes well today. I have had it done for almost 3 years now. I will defiantly say its worth EVERY LAST PENNY.

Here are a few things tho... FIRST and most important DO NOT DO NOT! for ANY reason at all go to a place because its cheap. You get what you pay for.... why risk it especially when its you vision... I did ALOT of research before I had it done. Go talk to the eye doctors until you find someone your comfortable with. The guy I ended up going to won me over because he said he specialized in laskic right when I 1st came around. He said hes had the chance to try many different ways and he now has his own way that shows the highest outcome.

Another HUGE thing is dont expect 20/20 vision. Mine did not come out perfect. I honestly could use a pair of glasses time to time but its never been to a point i've had to have them. The point of the operation is so you dont have to were contacts or glasses, and so was the out come of my operation.

It sucks for the first few weeks. They cut you tear duct, takes a few weeks to grow back and reconnect, so you will have to put eye drops in ever few hours or your eye get really dry. Your vision will be blury the first few days, it will get better tho.

oh ya ONLY use the eye drops they give or recommend you

Thanks for all of the great info. My appointment is set! Had my exam today, now I'm stuck at at&t looking out these huge windows with dilated eye; I feel like Vin Diesel all blind without sunglasses. My date is this Friday 3pm @ Lasikplus. The place im going to is featured on Delta Airlines magazines as the best surgeons (that adds a little ease of mind).

Cost: $3510. (Lifetime adjustments if needed)

That is not a bad price, if I remember correctly mine was 1200$ per eye then a 400$ materials and blah blah blah fee I remember paying just shy of 3k. I can recall thinking to my self before "this is dumb to spend this much, I could get another car for that money!" but after it was done and to this day now id gladly go sell my car now and ride a bike around to have had this done and to never deal with contacts anymore!

Its good to hear you found a place you like/trust, it honestly is an ease of mind. Its scary stuff, I was freaked out for sure. Something else id recommend is when your having the operation don't try and figure out what they currently are doing to your eye, its nasty. After I saw to much I tried to daydream and go away into my own little world till it was done. Made the rest of it much more bearable. Oh ya plug your nose too haha

My vision is close to 7.00 in both eyes (pretty ****ing blind), not sure how that transfers back to the 20/20 scale. But yeah, I think I might so this as well. Although i don't mind contacts, just when I drink I don't take them out and I wake up dry eyes.

No.... Laser eye surgery reverts your eyesight to around 20/20 at that time. Your eyes will always continuously get worse which is why they wont perform lasik until at least 21. Around 21 is when your eye sight starts to slow down, getting progressively worse

x2 on what he said! The doctor made it very clear I was going to have to get glasses or re-do the surgery in 15 to 20 years. I hope by then they can just wave a wand in front of your face and BOOM 20/20 vision. hahah
