lpr is the thing on the front it controls how much pressure moves the bolt forward and backwards with.

hpr is the front grip and it controls how much pressure comes out of the bolt hole to propel the ball down the barrel.

also dwell is how long the valve is open.

you lower the lpr and increase dwell when its cold to be gentler on paint, and you raise the lpr and shorten the hell out of the dwell for speed and efficiency.

^^ basically, it goes : tank reg: --> : inline reg: (hp) --> : lp block reg:
I think on the g6r it "stores"the extra air; so 1 trigger pull will take the air and have 2 shots because of the lpr (it cuts your pressure output by 1/2) so one shot fires, then your second shot won't cycle air all the way through.
Sorry if that didn't make sense, its easier to explain in person.
Side note: you should always unset your lpr's pressure after every day or you can blow it out

LP reg is probably referring to the tank reg. G6Rs need a low pressure input. If you use a high pressure tank you will have problems. On other guns the air goes from the Asa to the regulator that lowers the pressure. The G6R is different. You can blow seals and have problems. Hope this helped a little.

Bob long sells a pressure tester that you can get with your G6r. what you do is you unscrew the lpr which is on the front of your gun then screw the lpr onto the pressure tested and then the Pressure tester into the front of the gun. then you make adjustments to the gun by turning the allen keys on the reg and the lpr. if you got everytihing stock from bob long it should be tuned and you don't need to tweak it. if you bought it used from someone you may need to adjust the regs. the guns normally come with paper work that tell you where the lpr and hpr should be set too.

No but you do need lp reg at the very least.

I would also recommend that you down load and read over the manual a few times to under stand the gun even more.

im sorry to say, but perhaps you arent ready to own a g6r if you dont even know the premise of an lpr. but to answer your question any reg will work (be careful with myth regs because they can strip some asa's)

Dont forget to completely tear down your G6R into as many pieces possible so that there's no trapped air inside the marker...

tank regs, these take the pressure from the bottle and lower it to a usable pressure going into your gun.

high pressure (HP) = 800ish psi
low pressure (LP) = 400ish psi
super low pressure (SLP) = 250ish psi

the g6r says an SLP tank reg is reccomended since its the easiest on the seals in the grip frame for the macro-less design. but normal LP will work just fine. even HP output tanks will probably be ok, it just runs a higher risk of blowing/unseating the seal. some companies make adjustable regulators for their tanks. you can change the output by swapping springs or shims in the regulator.

gun regs:

high pressure regulator (HPR), this one takes the air coming from the tank and lowers it to the guns operating pressure. it supplys air to the LPR and bolt assembly to fire the paintball. most guns now run around 200psi just for example.

low pressure regulator (LPR), this is a secondary regulator that takes the air from the HPR, and lowers it further. it sends air to the solenoid and that air is used to move the bolt/ram to open the valve and release air to fire the paintball. most lpr's seem to run at about 60-100psi, depending on the marker.

other thoughts:

one gun having an lpr doesnt make it "better" than one that doesnt, shockers for example dont have one. i dont think some of macdev's guns like the clone do either (correct me if im wrong about that one). its just the way its designed.

Beat me to it.

'this is my time to say it! yeah buddy! *scrolling down*'

'**** he posted it'

read the manual. and once you're done. read it again. probably again after that. G6R's are complicated guns for people that don't know what they are doing, and they are finnicky. Not saying your dumb, just in general.

my friend completely broke 2lpr's, when he asked out local pro shop he said if you don't reset the pressure (to I believe as high as it goes, but I can check that) you can mess up the internals of the reg and you need to get a new one

Might want to recommend to your friend that he start looking for a new pro shop. That makes no sense

I wouldn't adjust anything but the main reg for velocity, and if you have to change something with the board, only change the firing mode to what you want....don't mess with dwell etc...everything should be working fine when you get it one would hope!? When in doubt, leave it be!

Your ”friend” needs to read the manual and your local field needs to take a real tech class over the gun.

Incorrect. You cannot put a HP reg on that gun. You will blow seals, guaranteed.
