yeah the video is cool, and unrealistic line has been crossed. but personally if i was going to be shot from that close every time i played...i don't know if i would go as much. i think that if local paintball fields would put out advertisements like this in commercial form, then awareness ans interest would start going up. at the same time though i think that actual paintballers need to be getting out there more and putting a face to the sport. because right now the only time you hear about paintball is when some moron teenagers are shooting at cars on the freeway or shooting people on the sidewalk from cars.

I think it has to do with the fact that most people don't even know speedball/xball exists. Most people think of paintball as renting a crappy gun, putting on a rental mask (that to me is the equivalent of rental bowling shoes if not worse) and going out on a field to shoot at each other for a couple hours. Hell I didn't know this form of paintball existed till Oct of last year when I worked World Cup as a medic.

Couldn't you say that "renting a crappy gun, putting on a rental mask" is what paintball is for people that don't play the sport or have their own gear?

My little sister was watching some show on Disney channel the other day (I think it was called Jessie or something like that) and it had a paintball scene in it. They weren't even using masks, it looked like airsoft googles or something. And they were running around in a park doing backflips and shooting each other with Cybrid guns. I guess they forgot to chrono though cuz they flew back like 50ft. when they got shot. lol

This is just beating a dead horse.
Paintball is borring to watch if it was portrayed accuratly, and thats the truth. It pretty much goes for anything- car chases, hand combat, police/csi work, whatever else.

The paintballing clip in the Reece Witherspoon movie is actually pretty good IMO. Keep in mind the majority of paintball players are rec ballers with Tippys.

ck1 and 2 brought a tear to my eye. those were low budgit films with like no dialogue. xsv story was amazing.

make a movie about dynasty from the beginning to now in the same format as any other sports movie.
it would eb a success and i think it'll be popular cause it's unique. who wants to go se another football movie???

people are going to see football movies, because football is a popular sport. The movie would have to be made in the same way as the comic book movies are made. Comic book movies attracts both readers and non-readers alike. a paintball movie is going to have to do the same thing.

But that is like asking how many movie adaptations of books or re-makes have they done. People are going to see those movies, no matter how many they do. i am not saying they should make more. I think a paintball movie needs to be made. not that i think about it, and indy film should be made. Possibly as a documentary. Those always seem to get a lot of press and get a lot of awards. i think that is the route that should be taken first.

^^ +2 on what he said.
Hollywood is a business. the only way to get a decent film that everyone would agree on a avg rating would be to put a Black american in a film where he seems to be fighting to world for a spot in the lime light.

Really what good movies about sports have you seen RECENTLY that doesn't have a black or would look good doing a re make with a black

Who wants to watch the avg white american playing paintball. haha thats a joke you'll get laughed at the box office
or who wants to see a minority run the tables. nawh not a million dollar seller... its all business

If you want to see a decent production video on paintball look up manufactures in the paintball industry

I watched paintball. It was bad. The paintballs were shooting like bullets, lol. Almost like 600+ velocity. Then the only guy that had his mask on would be the leader. The rest were wearing airsoft goggles or ****ty masks and took them off when no one was near, when you'd get **** on by refs and experienced players if you did that.

i had heard a while ago that jack black was working on a paintball movie but even if it was true i think the outcome would be very much like "blackballed: the bobby dukes story" i don't think you could make a serious paintball movie if there was a comedic underpinning.

and i agree with Vietz i don't think it would be as successful without at least one African American player "breaking out" (no pun intended) of the stereotypical black basketball/football athlete mold to play an "upcoming sport" like paintball.

i gotta admit, it is sad when the closest thing i've seen to a good representation of paintball was in like CSI or something like that...as has been said, look at what sells: stupidity. No one cares about the hell we put ourselves through to make oursleves better and since we arent a bunch of hopped up freaks that are over paid and there is a very low amount of drama in comparison to other sports, no way would a hollywood producer make a living on a film about the life of a paintballer

Nothing is accurate in the movies, just deal with it. I am willing to bet you learned things from movies about other things that people on forums about other things ***** about.

but from a movie watching standpoint i don't necessarily want to watch a paintball movie for education. the best way to learn anything, especially a sport, is to go do it, play it. i think they could make a high intensity paintball movie for entertainment. maybe a drama with fast tempo game play and relatable characters. a movie that people could watch again and again.

I really think it would be really hard to get a paintball movie with a decent plot on it, whether it is realistic or not.

really? how many "Mighty Ducks" movies did they make...3? how many other rags to riches sports movies have you seen? how hard would it really be to make a movie about putting together a paintball team that trains hard and goes on to win a championship? and with ONE big name "hollywood star" people would go see it. they would probably end up being the coach or something but with one big name, people would go see it.

I understand that there are a lot of ****ty movies out there. But you have to be realistic. IMO, i think paintball is going to have to be mainstream before you can make a movie about it. I don't think enough people know or even care about the sport to go pay $10 for a movie ticket. Paintball cant become mainstream because a big name actor was in it. I don't care how big an actor is. I mean have you seen "The Expendables"? All of the biggest action starts in one movie, and it was horrible. As someone who plays paintball, i would would love to see a movie. But I am the same guy that wants a Halo movie too.
