I love how I formulated out a long, educated response, and nobody has a comeback for REASON! HA! You all validate my point!

1) Kid walks onto the local field decked out in gear. After hitting someone in the mask we find out he's shoot hot. Team mate of mine grabs his gun to crono it. It chrono'ed at around 320 fps. We find out this is his first time out and instead of asking what the rules/terms he didn't know meant he caused a vet player to endure some serious lacerations to his face where the shell shot through his mask. We all thought he was just a patron of one of the other fields in the area not a new player.
2) Three kids show up for a day of play rocking their epic Mini's. They start talking **** to the field owner saying how he sucks and his field sucks ect. He challenges them to a 3v1 (owner played for Diesel who became Vicious before they went pro). He ran my Ion with the Revy I had at the time (Revy jammed on him multiple times this game.) Beat all three of the kids. One of the kids even kept playing though he took a barrel shot and was called out.
Moral of the story generally they are ignorance of rules and what not or just there bad *** attitude.

I would have been super pissed if that was me. props to your then team mate for not knocking the kid out. One of the places i play at, they have a chrono station at the entrance to the field, and before every game gun owners MUST chrono. at the other place i play at. It seems like the refs can tell whether you are shooting hot or not. I would like to know how this kid didnt even chrono his marker. That sucks.

But I am interested in trying to figure out how this kid got away with not checking his speed.

a lot of fields are understaffed an just trust that you crono your own gun to the proper speed.

Lots of fields also have surprise chrono inspections to scare anyone who might think they can get away with it.
Also, I really don't mind those kids who buy extremely expensive gear. They are allowing vendors to make money on paintball equipment and thus keeping the sport alive. Sure those people sometimes have some piss poor attitude, but a paintball to head usually solves that problem.

one of the fields i was playing at a kid with all his new gear was out and his dad bought him anything/everything he wanted from the proshop. while i was reffing the kid would get hit and i would go to pull him out but he would say he shot the other kid first. This went on the entire day with him over shooting people and continually wiping hits. i then suspended him for a few games. when his dad came over and found his son not playing he went crazy on me saying his son did nothing wrong and i was doing my job wrong. He then demanded his money back and was cussing at everyone. During this the kid was throwing a fit throwing paint everywhere and knocking everything off the table. we finally threw him out and told him to never come back. This is only one example but i have had multiple other ones similar to this but not as bad from spoiled kids

I'm fairly new to paintball, but I'm not a little kid, on the outside (19). But I bought all my own gear, it really does teach you that your possessions are valuable.
Though people do look at me funny when I come out onto the field with my Etek, and decked out in Etek gear xD

I think it's just the way it looks undeserved.. at least for me anyway. I was working 2 weeks ago and there was a player with ALL new dye gear (cleats, mask, swabs, pants, jersey, headband, pads) and he was using a rental and thought he was all bad *** and he couldn't play for crap. He's not the first person I've seen do that either

I think more of a guy with a mid-range marker wearing sweats and jeans than I do of a tourney-dressed guy with a rental. Got priorities mixed up.

I mean im 16 and i have an ego. I started when I was ten when my dad bought me a tippman for my first gun. Ever since then I have payed for everything myself. So not evrey kid's parents pay for their stuff which is the attitude some people have.

I never understood that. Why would you get the jersey and stuff before you get the marker? seems backwards.
