Yes, yes, and hell yes.

Knee and elbow pads are essential. Take it from someone who once didn't wear them, and now regrets it.

If you're playing competitive paintball, and you enjoy your arms... yes.

Not only do you protect yourself, but you also make it so you can play harder. If I don't go out with pads, I hold back. But knowing I have padding, I will slide/jump/dive harder. I have the pads to cushion my fall, so I take bigger falls.

I wouldn't say elbow pads are a must, but they are very useful if you dive a lot. I would say that knee pads are a must though.

only if you want to increase the number of bounces and decrease the number of elbow injuries.

At my age, I need all the protection I can get. I can't count how many times I'm in the back, covering my snake player, and then I need to fill in to the snake when he moves up or gets shot out. There's no way I could dive and crawl into a snake without elbow and knee pads, even on grass.

On a similar note, every year for the past few years I say that it's the last year I'm going to compete, and the next year I sign up for another tourney series. Next year, I'm really going step back and coach full-time. I mean it. I really am. You just watch me.

I second all these from personal experince also.
I play back and mid so I don't slide a lot, I mainly play from my feet and I use the pads more for bounce than anything.

No you won't. I use to say the same thing also and I'm still playing... and coaching.

Elbow pads/knee pads can save lives. Beats going home with scrapes/cuts

Definitely pick up a pair of elbow pads. I play D-Insert positions but I love them. For the padding and the bounce. I played a four man last spring and I chickenwinged a bit much and it bounced and I actually closed out the game. If I didnt wear them I would have been in the deadbox instead. I currently use a pair of Eclipse ones.

Every player on the field should have a nice pair if elbow pads. Both for safety reasons and increasing your skills.

I wear both elbow and knee pads. I can play without either but don't like to. Plus with elbow pads you can get bounces, and I've had quite a few bounces.
