All of them.
The MR-1 'SNIPER', just because it has "sniper" in the name.
Seriously though, they're all ****.

Spyders are actually decent markers. Granted, they're not in the same league as any electropneumatics, which makes most people who grew up shooting $500+ markers and never used a Spyder call them crap.
If I had to isolate the worst, I'd probably say a Compact 2000. Every one I've used has been unreliable and inconsistent. For the most part, though, Spyders are great beginner markers.

I grew up on Spyders in the late 90's. Went from a Compact, to a TL plus, to an EM1. They all treated me well. Can't speak to the latest line, but the ones I had growing up never failed me.

I bought a Java Shutter in 01 that worked just fine up until I stopped lending to friends in 08.

What exactly is bad about Spyders that make people bash on them? Granted, they're inconsistent, but for the most part they're good little guns.

Uh, the solenoids are extremely easy and cheap to replace.... I've got a bunch of them at my house. Unplug old, plug in new, replaced...

Mech spyders are pretty damn reliable. This is 2012, not 1999. I'd take a Spyder over a Tippmann any day of the week. Tippys have gotten worse, Spyders have gotten better. Everything after 2009ish has been pretty good.

Little bit of history for ya'll.
When Kingman introduced the Spyder line of markers back in '93, they were some sweet shooting markers because the internals were all machined out of forged parts.
Around '95 they became "popular" and Kingman suddenly had to jump production from 1,000 a year to 10,000 per year.
This meant major retooling in the factory, and the one thing that went south was the whole trigger/sear assembly.
What had been machined steel became stamped-out aluminum parts in order for production to meet demand.
That degradation in materials and increased production made the whole Spyder line more affordable to the masses, but lost something along the way. Mainly the one thing that made them so nice when they first came out.
Over the past 20 years Kingman has been relying on the fact that they were great markers...20 years ago.

Great post Thanks for enlightening us.
Sadly, this story is all too common in every single industry; not just paintball.

It seems like supply and demand is always the downfall of something good . My first marker was an Electra and didn't have any problems with it in the year I used it.
Sorry but I couldn't tell you my least favorite

I have seen some B.A. little Spyders that were up'd like mad.
But the ones from the late 90's-present are always wearing down and breaking.
I'm the resident 'fix it" guy at my field. Whenever I'm reffing or playing, I have to fix some spyder clone at least once a day. 90% of the time it's a worn sear on the hammer/striker. They're just too cheaply made nowadays.

Why is it I hear so much about those halycon days of yore where spyders/angels/[insert preferred marker of choice] never broke and were the greatest ever. Yet never see them used on the fields. Checkmate.

I think there are allot of spoiled kids on this forum that have their Daddy buy them electronic marker and think that its superior to a Spyder. Its not the marker, its the triggerman.
Really why ask what is the worst market if your not trying to stir the pot.

Lol I've only seen one and it was a teammate's. Other than that I've only seen them online. Maybe they DID break down after all.
