Question disassembling Mini for anodizing?

Hey All, need a little advice.

I've sent my Mini off for anodizing but wasn't able to remove any of the magnets from the gun - the anodizer doesn't think this will be a serious problem because he seems to think he can get these off, but what he is worried about is the bolt guide pin coming out the back of the body, he's say's he wont be able to remove this and therefore won't be able to anodize this part.

Has anyone managed to remove this with their mini's or have any advice?

here's a pic in case you don't know what part I'm talking about, you can see it just sticking out of the back of the body.

Cheers,

Really depends on how its in there. If its just press in I bet you could snag it with a flat jaw vice...a little twisting and a pull.

What about masking?

Yeah masking might be a possibility, I wouldn't know myself but I'll ask the anodizer when I next speak with him. What would it be masked with though? as i understand it, its being put in a bath of acid so I cant imagine much would hold up against that

there is a lot that will stand up to acid. Especially at the temp and concentrations used in anodizing.

I have use liquid electrical tape, plastidip, and currently a product called mask-it.

Masking can be tough in such a small area...it would be much more desirable if you could remove it.
