I guess it's like amazon prime. You get free month of free 2 day shipping, then you cancel your subscription. I think I'm going to do it, it cuts off like $25 on my order.

I just recieved a free biostar H61ML.

I have a core i7 2600(locked multiplier) and I am tempted to throw it in that mobo. I already know the features lacking in the H61 chipset, but would it be "sacreligious" to throw that bad boy into the H61 for a budget gaming build?

I have 8GB of DDR3 1333mhz as well. While not the fastest ram, it should suffice. I am only planning on running a single graphics card.

I guess I feel like an *** for using the cheapo mobo, but cyberpower pc has been using Biostar H61 mobos in its $1200 Core i7 2600k systems.

If you get a mechanical... you may not ever want a rubber dome keyboard again. Ever since I switched... I hate my keyboard at work. It's hard to get used to... and harder to type on now.

I just found this the TenKeyLess mech keyboard just now... and what a price.

http://us.ncix.com/products/?sku=670...R&promoid=1078

Generally... most mech's are $100+, and TKL keyboards are usually more in price because of space saving and demand. My Filco TKL mx-blues was $150, and similar looking as the link above.

That's pretty cool. I doubt I will spend the money on one for quite a while though.

But your new build needs something that feels good... lol...

Here is mine... looks similar to the link I posted, and has the same mx blue switches. I don't think it has the same stabalizers because of the price.

It just doesn't seem worth it yet. Maybe later on, but I've got quite a few other parts with more priority. WD green 1.5tb hdd for $79 is my next purchase.

I have both of these and the G500 is my favorite by far. G9x tends to cramp my hands when gaming for extended periods, but I still use it a good bit when doing design work on my laptop.

I support the G500, enough that I have two. One of my friends has a Performance MX, and while it's nicely designed, it's clearly not designed for gamers. Those are pretty much the only two mice I can talk about in the $50-90 price range.

The wall of text in the uber build tutorial kills me for some reason. Whats worse is that I have never done this before, so I have no pictorial representation of these things in my head.

It's pretty easy, for the most part. Even if you mess up, it's really not possible to do it wrong enough to cause damage. Once you get the hardware in hand, the guide will make more sense.

The most critical part (put down the tequila bottle for this) is when you install the CPU. If you put the CPU in sideways or backwards, you will ruin the motherboard. Pay close attention to the arrows on the CPU and the socket.

Putting it in upside down will probably also damage it, just fyi.

As long as there are arrows, I should be good. Do I need to buy some thermal compound?

If I remember correctly, my cpu's stock cooler came with a thermal pad on it, so its not really necessary. Though it couldn't hurt to have some arctic silver around, incase you do decide to upgrade the cooler.

Gotcha, it's not very expensive anyway.

I just watched this video Newegg made about the case I'm getting. It looks like a pretty good case. What do you guys think?

Pretty difficult to wrong with a cooler master in terms of functionality or quality. If you like the way it looks, go for it.

I think it looks pretty cool, and it seems to have quite a few handy features. It's included in the Newegg DIY bundle, so I can't change it. I'm glad they included a pretty decent case, though. Sadly, the HDD isn't so great.

Here's the bundle if any of you haven't seen it or were interested.
http://www.newegg.com/Product/ComboB...t=Combo.770956

I think I asked this before, but I can't find the response. All of those components are compatible, correct?

Also, I've been reading this guide a couple times a day for the past week or so. Is it accurate?
