What to buy for $250?

Coming back to the game and i have about $250 to spend in a gun.. Last time i played i got a Spyder RSX but i had alot of problems with it.. So i want to get something a bit better than that.. So i been looking and alot of people like the Proto 2011 (http://www.zephyrpaintball.com/produ...Dust-Blue.html)

Dont really like to buy used (since most of the time you dont know what you are getting) and since i dont know much about guns i can prob get ripped off...

Thanks =)

You can't really go wrong with your choice of the Rail, pretty solid marker. I had one for a short stint. It doesn't break balls and decently fast ROF. The trigger frame is just a composite version of their higher end DYE so it is pretty comfy. The efficiency is about where spoolies are, but then I played with it when it was 40F. The Dust Blue is an awesome color!

here is my noob opinion:

GoG eXTCy
PROS:
Board
Neck
on/off valve)
Looks Cooler

CONS:
Trigger
Manufacture not wel known (may run out of business??)
Not color coded O-Rings

Proto Rail 2011
PROS:
Trigger
Board
Eyes-Cover
DYE backup (very stable company)
Color coded O-Rings

CONS:
Neck
doesnt have on/off valve)

Maybe be wrong but its what i have gathered so far still not sure

Ques 1: Do you play mostly Xball or woods?

Though most field do rent electros over Tippmans (Tippys are very durable and reliable) and great for woodsball.

But you think of the xtra cost you are gonna pay to rent an electro if you play xball vs you owning your own even if you only play 1-2 month.

Like I said b4, you can't go wrong with the Rail. As for your cons for the Rail, the neckfeed is not that big a deal since you seldom take your hopper on and off that often during the day. An on/off asa isn't that big a deal either since almost nobody uses co2 (you can't or shouldn't on electro anyways) anymore, on/off was a great way to not freeze your o-ring on the bottle from co2. Both these can always be added on later.

Gog = Smart Parts, so in reality they've been around a mighty long time.

Feedneck quality is pretty similar with both, actually. Don't think you'll have problems.

Color-coded o-rings are nice, if you only buy o-rings straight from Dye/Proto. Most people do not, because they're cheaper elsewhere (like oringmonkey.com). So don't let that be a deciding factor for you. Oringmonkey even has a size chart available for free so you can easily identify o-rings, and sort them yourself if you don't purchase them already sorted.

I'd prefer the Extcy over the 2011 PMR, mostly because the Extcy is $50 cheaper.

bottom line is, your $, get what is best feels for you. I'm not a big fan of SmartParts aka GoG but they do put out some good stuff.
