Tips for first timers, come on you old dawgs, let's hear you BARK!!
So What advice can the experianced players give to those who missed the last 4 Living Legends??
1: HYDRATE OR DIE!!! (seriously) It can get HOT out there. Bring plenty to drink (WATER DAMN IT! NOT ENERGY DRINKS OR POP). I know there were some instances of players pushing so hard they ignored this fact and collapsed. You cant help your team if they have to have 4 guys to carry off the feild.
2: Dont skimp on your paint budget, this is what old timers refer to as a 'target rich environment'! You really want to be 'that guy' who thinks he can go out and face a 300 man push with with just a hopper and 2 pods of paint for the day??
3: Take the time to check out ALL your gear before you even think of loading it in the car!! Dudes, you have been playing how long? You should know what you need to keep the gear running, what a tank hydro test date is (YES THEY WILL CHECKING THIS!), and waht bells and whistles will help you pimp the feild.
Let's hear some more tips guys.

Bring backup gear. Anything that can be nonfunctional, well...
Bring a full set of tools/allen wrenches.
Chrono as early as you can, get your card punched! The line moves pretty well, but it also gets really lenghty, and it sucks being the guy in chrono when the start horn goes off.
Remember once you're on the field, the slugfest firefights aren't the only game going on! There's a lot of field to work with - you don't have to run right up the middle, right up the trail, into 300 guns and get bogged down. Be willing to work up and down the hills to get around the edges.
Like other large scale, large field scenario games, if you have an Apex or Flatline of some sort, this is a really good place to bring it. I was very hesitant to use mine that I'd picked up just to screw around with, but it's been a lifesaver for long range work.
If you've been taken out, BE VISUALLY CLEAR about it! Nobody can hear you meekly say " i'm hit" over said 300 guns from 150+ feet away, and they'll just keep shooting.
READ THE RULES. As Viper would say, "don't be that guy" that doesn't know the rules, what you can do, and what you can't do.
Heh, the more I think about this, the more things come back to mind.

Don't try to carry all of your gear with you. Carry a main weapon and maybe a pistol. anything more and you will wear yourself out faster.

Bring your own allen wrench to chrono your gun! Don't be the guy that has to borrow someones wrench and make them wait on you. Keep your camping area clean. Bring extra money for vendors, you're going to want something and you'll be pissed later because you didn't have that $100.

Oh so right OleManKraus. And combine this with Sean's suggestion to socialize. You never what deal is lurking the bottom of some ones gear bag. 2 years ago I scored an acid wash phantom for a hundred bucks.

While I agree with this and do normally carry my own set of wrenches "just in case", the fact is, if a field wishes to keep velocity-adjusting tools off of the field they should make absolutely sure that the chrono area is well-stocked with allen key sets so that people don't HAVE to bring their own. I've run into so many fields that DON'T do this, however, that I've gotten into the habit of bringing my own.

Honestly, I would skip the pistol and carry an extra pod in it's place. Pistols are cool and all that, but it's not like the movies when your "primary" runs out and you drop it and whip out a pistol. To each their own though.

I agree, the only time I carry a pistol as a sidearm is when I'm running another one as my primary.

Remember that if you hang out in the staging area all day, your teammates out on the field have to take up your slack.

Forget the pistols. My guns never go down because I take care of them like they are my children. Otherwise, I always have a backup pump in a MOLLE shotgun sheath on the back of my vest.
