New PE pants feel cheap

I have had the same JT pants since 2004. I bought some PE 2012 Distortion online off Amazon. I live hours away from any nearby store so I went blind. These feel incredibly cheap. Almost like I'm wearing a windbreaker or something. Do all new modern pants feel this way? I guess it makes them lighter and gives them more breathing, but I don't see where the 130 dollars of material is. Should I look into any other brands? I can return these.

Never dealt with PE pants, but if you paid that much, return them and my recommendation would be Empire LTD pants, I have the 2011 pants and they feel like wearing a tank if it were comfortable and extremely flexable. They are a tad bit heavy but all the heavy duty cloth and padding is worth it, there's even kevlar in the knees. I know ANS has them for $110 and they have the 2012s for $136. I personally got my pants off of the BST section here new with tags for $70, you just have to look around for the deals

Wore a set of 2011 pe pants on and off last year. They feel cheap, but they are virtually indestructible. They will take everything you throw at them, with gusto.

Do not get the 2012 ltd pants, they are exactly like the normal contact pants.

Alright. I'll take your word for it. They feel great and look nice, I just thought they were some cheap material. They sound like a windbreaker when I walk.

I have the 2011 pants and they're solid. Just follow the care instructions on the label when you wash them and they'll last a long time.

I think the Planet Eclipse pants are the most durable pants out on the market.

I have a pair of the 2011. As stated above, take care of them (I wash them once a week after hard play days) and they stand tall. I beat the crap out of them and they have been great so far.

Very true. Sliding on normal grass tears the grass and dirt apart, creating a lower impact force due to the higher impact time. Sliding on turf has a much lower impact time, drastically increasing the force put onto the fibers of your pants.

^Random physics for the day.

Super durable light weight material. Feels cheap, but as long as you keep tthe legs from dragging or doing turf slides, they will outlast you!

Everything Planet Eclipse is going to be pricey. I would go with Empire! They are worth the money. I have Valken too and I love them. They were cheap but they work great. Never had problems with them and I've played two seasons with them.
But I love these, they have so much padding and they hold up. you get what you pay for>>>http://www.pbnation.com/showthread.p...991&highlight=

The new Empire and Planet Eclipse are the same price.

Either way, the pants are holding up great. I am using them pretty strenuously and they're perfect. Absolutely loving them.

I believe the PE pants are designed to feel like nothing. After all isn't that what you want? Pants that almost feel like a pair of light sweatpants?
Durability wise they are one of the best you can buy. EXTREMELY durable. I have put them through serious beatings. Playing woodsball and scenario, I've had them up against rocks, concrete, pushing through heavy brush. You name it.

I am still rocking my C5 C6 Dye pants today and love them, great feeling and still light to me, and they are still holding up great still today and I have beat them to no other also. I have not tried any of the new Dye pant's and or other paintball pants out there, so in the end just treat them with care and you should be good.
