New tank - the lightest tank in the pbworld

Some of player know polish company Stako, the are manufacuring for players very good tank ( 68ci, 750g weight ) but now Safer ( also Polish company ) released better tank for pb players

I have in my hands pre market tank and it was awesome, very light also you don't need any cover because stock tank is cover by rubber.

Is this because of shipping issues? Just curious.

Yeah, could be. Oh well... I've still got my Luxfers. A tank's a tank's a tank in my opinion. I'd just like a tiny 6 or 8cu for pump play. I know a lot of people who'd jump on that in a heartbeat.

Stako tanks don't meet the safety requirements here in the U.S. which is why they cannot be sold here.

Stako makes great tanks, they meet all the rules and such that other tank does.
They have PI certefication, this is the certification we have in europe.
In the states you have DOT if i remember right.

The whole deal with stako tank beeing unsafe, is that one-two blew up at some millenniums a few years back, this was due too use of oil and dirt, some people found it a good idea to get this in contact with their regs, and so this went into the tank it self. As a result it blew up.

I have used stako tanks in the past, i used mine for allmost five years, untill the hydro went out.

So the reason u cant get it because the tanks are tested with euro requirements, and not us since its made in europe.
Getting it tested with us requirments, is not just something you can do.

Requires licensing and a whole bunch of other things.

But still, American tanks get sold in the us with no euro certification.
But euro tanks dont get sold to the states?

Could you provide any proof ?

Honestly players from USDM can't buy Stako due to lack of US safety confirmation - why ? Because If the will give to Stako that certificate, all players will use Stako and Safer products. It is classic example of lobbing.

Hopefully these get DOT approved.. I would love to throw a myth on one of these... I just don't quite like Gorilla Air (personal preference) and I would love to see a lighter alternative to a Ninja tank... Plus I like the idea of the rubber coating!

Edit.:
It's as simple as providing the product to the department of transportation for testing and filling out the paperwork. If it meets certification standards a number will be issued.

We have tanks in the US that can't be used in Canada and vice versa. And we have tanks removed off the list all the time as well. Better safe than sorry, if these are in the UK I'll check them out.

Is the cylinder is made of composite materials similar to the stako? Does it still have to be filled slowly and in stages like the stakos to allow the air to escape the layers? Or is there an aluminum cylinder housed inside like standard cylinders so it can be slam/hot filled like other tanks? Trying to see how they differ exactly or if they're built on similar designs.

And since people are bringing up the Stako, they lack DOT certifications so they can't be used in the US. They also have to be filled slowly and in stages to my understanding to allow the air between the composite layers to bleed out so you can't slam fill them. This is why they 'hiss' when being filled, it's the air coming out from the Kevlar and composite layers. The price when converted to dollars translates to roughly $200-$250 for a cylinder that can't be rehydro tested and is only good for five years total.

Thanks for the laugh, I needed one this morning.

Lobbying only applies to issues that involve voting. There's no lobbying going on at the DOT. If there were, it'd be called corruption, and I'm sitting here laughing at the idea of Luxfer paying off DOT officials to prevent Stako from being certified. Some people need to get a clue.

As has been stated, the only reason Stako doesn't have DOT certification is they haven't filled out the paperwork, supplied tanks for testing or paid the licensing fee. It's entirely their choice as a company.

Stako is garbage.

Many of the tanks they made in the past have gone nuclear, the most notable ones were from that filmed tournament.

I also got a good laugh at the tanks name, very very ironic.
