A mech with a third leg offers too much innuendo for one to take.

Yea there are a lot of Lego mechs online. I would probably build one if I had any clue what pieces I need. I want a little shadow cat or timber wolf for my desk.

Yea, now that I look at it I'm wondering how they did that, but then again, I see a bunch of pieces that I never had as a kid, I guess they've been making different and better pieces.

i never had any like that either, even though my childhood pretty much consisted of legos. my guess is its mostly from star wars sets, i think they were mostly desert colored. it really doesnt look like its that many pieces...im gonna say maybe a little less than a foot tall.

It actually is a lot of pieces considering the intricacy of it, look at the level of detail they put into it. It's probably not all pieces from one genre of set, they probably special ordered a ton of pieces in specific colors.

Yea you can buy Lego by the brick at Lego stores. Once you figured out how to build it with multicolored pieces and kept notes on what pieces you used, you could just go to the store pick out whatever bricks you need in pretty much any color and make your own set.

They also have a program. A couple of years ago someone at MekTek used the program to design mechs and I think ordered a custom set, but it was upwards of $130 per set.

On a related note, I've built a Supernova 3 using legos before. It was somewhat out of proportion to the canon depictions, but it was pretty close the the MW3 design of the torso.

I have a mini AT-AT and AT-ST, which is the closest I've ever come to building a mech-related lego.

ok so....im really just not liking the catapult. sold the C1 in order to try a k2..and im just not finding anything that really works....cataphract 1x works better as a laser boat, with better heat management and armor even with 4x large lasers...i dont really want to go the guasscat route as its stupid expensive. and kinda boring imo.....either er or normal ppc's just build up too much heat....2x ac20's is just to damn slow. so far the best ive came up with is 4 med lasers and 2 ac2's and spit shells at people constantly.

Dakka cat ftw?

I usually run a 6x SRM6 Cat A1. Call it an alpha build if you will, but it's more effective to chain the SRMs and get the CT down then drop the hammer and get a quick kill. The downside is that in my configuration I've only got 400 rounds, so when I get low on ammunition, my last volley is just a simple count of 4 SRMs, which I have gotten a kill off of btw.
