yes, but they have a release date now. they didn't before.
also the main reason the game wasn't made 2 years ago was because some company bought the rights to robotech in the us and then sued the creators of this game for copy write infringements for using fighting mechanized robots in combat, something about the warhammer being to similar to one of the designs they bought the rights to.

Interesting, wonder if that is real gameplay from the alpha or whatever stage they are in right now. Considering that the only thing they have been releasing on their fb fan page and website is concept art, I wonder how they got that clip.

this weekend the devs had in house "testing" games..... bastards 
i have been waiting for a redemption of the series for so many years. i won't give my opinion on what MS did to the franchise.
Edit: the reason they didn't make the game a couple of years ago was the fact they couldn't find a publisher, and the engine used on the old trailer was Unreal 3. now it is being done on the newest crytek engine.
Harmony Gold made their big stink years ago, resulting in the "unseen" and "reseen" mechs.

they did it again in 2009 though because they used one of the unseen mech's in the trailer.

new role warfare blog is up on the MWO site. pretty interesting, in that this is how the are initially implementing the RPG aspect of the game. it doesn't really seem too innovative, but i dont care, as long as it works.

Looking at the video there, setting this game in 3015 makes this a whole different game. That takes it back to what became known as the "Level 1" game, without all the lostech stuff coming back into common use, without the Clans, before the ComStar/WoB crap. Now I'm going to be watching this. I've been a BattleTech player since... well, my old original box set with the Shadow Hawk on the cover of the rules book, 1984 or so, I think. Taking the game back to its roots is priceless.
Heck, I still enjoy playing MegaMek when I have time, as well as the original board version. I've taught all my kids how to play, too. |

Well, I'm hoping that if these two games can make money then it will prove the Mechwarrior brand is still a viable one, and we'll see more games in the near future. |
