A buddy of mine bought a Virtue redefined board bnib for his DM11 from the official dealer , I installed it for him in the gun , went for the usual settings for dye guns , but that did not work:
with 18 clicks for the dwell , there was only a small puff from the noid
So we called the dealer, and it was decided to ship the board back to them; they shipped it back a couple of days later, saying it works alright, but that the numbers on the manual did not match ( I had to set 42 clicks for the dwell, and 20 for the ABS to have the gun shooting )
Ugh no...
My DMC runs at 12 dwell and ABS at like 2 or 3
What lube do you use on the bolt?
I find sleek has alot of bolt stick in my older gun and switched to monkeypoo from oring monkey, and runs like money.
Idk if this helps
To answer your question no its not normal for thay high of settings on those guns
Wow that board is messed up
ive never seen that before and ive used virtue for a loooong time!
My suggestion is call virtue and tell them whats going on.
then ship it to them with a letter inside telling them all the issues ur having and let them fix it lifetime warrenty on it so take advantage of it.
my mate got it from the official dealer in france , I told him to sent it back, which he did , but the board came back exactly the same ( I am pretty sure they don't have a chord to reflash it ... )
we might wait for the next millenium event to see someone from virtue because shipping fees are a damn expensive when they charge you for the return (from USA to France )
Ya id def be getting that board replace from virtue
Ive never had as big as a issue as you have but whenever i had small problems they always fixed it or just replaced with a brand new board
We had a small issue with some boards that shipped out that didn't allow you to set your dwell above 15ms. Below is some more information about how to set the virtue board. How high can you set your dwell?
The NT/NT11/DM11/DM12 Redefined board fits in a wide array of guns; because of this the dwell must be adjusted by the user. The dwell value is adjusted in the programming mode below is a chart to give you an average dwell* for your marker. Remember that when setting your dwell (solid red) that the milliseconds is measured in ¼ ms so 4 blinks = 1ms; 28 blinks = 7ms, 72 blinks = 18ms and so on.
Dye NT 7ms 28 Blinks
Dye NT 11 10ms 40 Blinks
Dye DM 11 18ms 72 Blinks
Dye DM 12 18ms 72 Blinks
*You may need to change this setting based on your setup.
Wiseguy - no it is not true on all Virtue Boards. On the NT board we were trying to accomplish a more precise dwell by measuring 1/4 MS but seems like it was just more of a hassle now that the DM12 requires 3x the dwell of the original NT.
I have exactly the same problem with my Virtue redefined board in my DM12. I just tried to set dwell to 72 blinks but it didn't work, the maximum I can set it to is 60?

Maverick As I stated above this is a software issue. Please send your board into us and we will reflash it with new software. When sending the board in include a note with your return address, phone number and a description of the problem.(just state that you need to flash the board)

sorry I only answer now , had not seen your post, thanks for your help Tomaconda; well, as we actually could not manage to get the gun shooting right at 36 blinks like the dealer suggested , we decided to use the stock board to at least use the gun.
Now, we are going to give it a try at 72 blinks , that board cost my buddy a lot of money ( close to $ 200 ) , and we will have it working
I am just a little surprised that no manual mentions the maths you have to do according to the gun you have ... that would help.
