Any idea how much a stock cocker body weighs? Yes, I know everyone is looking at the lightest, but it helps a bit when you compare it to what is considered "heavy"

OK, i'll bite...didn't strip it down to the body but weighed one of my stock body '03 Eblades, no tank, inline, or barrel and it weighs 2 lbs 15.4 oz...so you can draw conclusions from that...

I'll give you an exact weight on an RDL once they eventually get the new ones in, and the one I ordered is shipped.

Lightest cocker....
http://www.cockerownersgroup.com/custom/g10_cocker.htm
I have held one of these and talked with Ken in person about them. The gun and barrel is lighter then a Boston Paintball Supply Twister without a barrel. And I mean it is LIGHT! Under 4 lbs.

I think litma is talking about the featherlight merlin made by JMJ. Those looks pretty light, and very similar to the Jackals.

A merlin is not that light. It is basicly a mini body that has had the valve chamer drilled out. If you were to weigh it, it would weigh probably weigh close to as much as an RDL complete marker.

Litma. JMJ took AKA Merlin bodies, and milled them dramatically, producing the featherlight merlins. Normal Merlin bodies are big solid block of aluminum, and could never be mistaken for anything lightweight. Normal merlins look like bricks, JMJ merlins look a lot like the Jackals, two rounded tubes on top of one another.

I think the cobras are light, but they dont do much milling other than taking that big chunk out. Im sure the nexus, RDL, and turtle/martin/halfblock cockers are much lighter. My RDL will be about 1.5 pounds, it doesnt get much lighter than that.

I dunno about that, the RDLs are about $350 for the body, front block, back block, and ASA, annod one color. That seems pretty reasonable to me. Get the jackal internal kit, and you are looking at under $450. And screw turtling it, its going to be light as hell anyways, and nothing is going to work as well in it as Jackal's own stuff.

I just picked up the Jackal Internal set just because I wanted to have all Jackal parts, haha. I wish he'd make clamping feednecks, I know the 3rd gen RDLs are coming with a twist neck, but I still prefer the look of a clamp.

Well, when $350 is about all you have for your budget, then yes, it is expensive. Even if it wasn't, $350 is up there for just a body kit.

Oops, didnt know that was your budget man. They dont seem any more expensive than the freeflow stuff, or any other quality kit. You can get cheaper bodies, but in the end you get what you pay for.

Hmm... I'm tempted to put together a bit more money, get an RDL, then turtle it... I wonder if Jackal will sell an unanno'd jackal body (since it'll have to be anno'd again anyway) for cheaper...

Supposedly its only about $20 cheaper, but dont quote me on that. Apparently, annoing in bulk really drives down the price, so there isnt much cost at all for the anno.
