Im curious as to why you think he shouldnt have gotten in the blues players faces... They were blatently targeting players all game i. e. Chris Stweart being butt hurt over Brad Stuart laying the smackdown. Then Backes had to come in and start **** with Jimmy too... Great captain they have there...

Goalies should be able to protect themselves, but shouldnt need it in the first place... You don't slash at a goalie after the ref is blowing the play dead and he clearly is covering the puck...

This is why fighting is in the game. I donno who has played hockey in here and who has not, but iv gotten in fights with people much bigger than me. knowing going in that he has the advantage. In hockey but its not about the fight or anything like that its about the amouint of respect you have for yourself and your team.

The goalie, from my experience he should be able to take exception, 90% of the time the defenceman come in no problem at all.

The phrase "take exception" threw me off... I hardly hear that phrase ever... What you're saying is that goalies should be able to come at the players if they are in his zone, slashing him, etc...?

my only problem is if your gonna start swinging your blocker at people at least pull your mask off [which yea i know he's probably not going to take the time to pull it off in the heat of the moment, but it leaves little else for players to do to fight back]
