Thanks for the advice I'll definitely be sure to do that! I don't mind buying used stuff, someone made some magic with it at one point!

Did you go in with a plan or did you just kind of wing it? Interesting you bounced it off the metal. Would have never thought of that.
Anything you learned or would do differently next time? Noticed the food is discolored. Maybe light that as well?

One hell of a day today! It started out with going to a diving competition and taking some pictures for a client. Then Lacie (my grand daughter) and I went out and shot a few rounds from a S&W 3914 and a Hi Point 9mm Carbine. Then we went to a local BMX and Skate Park to take pictures for another client. I'll not clutter the thread with the diving and BMX/skate board pictures but here are some of the firearms.
Yes that is brass flying in the pictures. I shot them at 1/3200 of a second to make sure I got some brass. The DOF is a bit off as it's hard to shoot real guns as you do not want to be in front of the muzzle. All the shots were done with a remote shutter release.
This is the first time ever she has shot a real gun. She loved it. She's already wanting to go shooting again.

The skating and diving shots are for clients. Generally I don't post those kind as they paid for the photos. I'll see if they mind.

I'm not a big fan of B&W so I'm more prone to making a washed out look or just leaving it the way it looks. But this one just looked good in B&W

I just bought a nice monopod and I'll say it is honestly pretty sweet for video. It's much lighter and more portable than a tripod for going into crowded situations and you can rig up some pretty simple steadicams with a monopod.

You're right, I need to tone it down on my vignetting in PP. I know the background isn't flattering in some of the wider shots with the foam on the wall, but thats out of my control. How are they otherwise?
