Are the servers still quite populated? I'm debating on whether or not I want to use the 75% off coupon from Steam to pick it up for $5. I've already beaten the campaign on another console and would only be buying it for multiplayer at this point.

I can't speak for the PC version, but I'd imagine there would still be plenty of people playing. ~500 people will be in TDM alone on the 360 at any given time, which is more than enough to play, especially when you factor in other game modes. CoD 4 was the last good one in the series in my opinion.

I just signed back in to see if any of you guys were playing MW3 the way you used to play the original.
I played SnD with you guys a few times, so much fun.
