Having "issues" with an nt
alrighty
im having real struggles with a team mates nt that has never functioned consistently the way it should always had issues with it breaking down at tournies, breaking paint "field" paint, being loud, in-efficient and just not being reliable in general.
over the last month ive sat down and really worked on it as it was smasshing paint and when relubed refused to even cycle at any pressure
have done the following
1. changed all orings the ones on the outside got replace and all the moving ones for smoother/less resistance orings and have broken them in with about 2 cases of paint
2. tested different lubes from stock dow 33, dye, pe grease, hater sauce, hater marmalade, militia lube without a marked difference
3. checked and cleaned the noid
4. tested different dwell settings and 2 different boards
5. replaced the orange bumpers
6. cleaned the hpr
7. put in new tested brand name battery
even with all the above "tinkering" i cannot get the gun to cycle under 135 psi reg pressure and it hits 295 fps at about 145-150 and the noid starts leaking at about 155-160 im wondering if there is anything i may have overlooked the only thing i havent tried is swapping out parts from another nt to pinpoint an "issue"
im wondering if there is anything i have missed... or anything i can try to get the reg pressure under 135 ive heard of others getting pressure as low as 110psi.
thanks for any help

nt10/11?
used/new?
Sounds like a faulty noid to be honest but check the spool and make sure its lubed properly.

Changed out the Reg Seat right?
Do you have any spacers in it? If you do pull them all out.

unless you have the 11 updated parts, i don't think you will be able to get it much lower. I managed to get my NT10 down to 110 psi when i owned it but I had drilled inserts and tips as well 2 cases a weekend for a year through it.

Same thing with my NT 10.5. All the parts needed are on my gun and still I can't get the pressure lower. Still very inconsistent.. I have no idea what could be done. Just posting this if could get some answers.

with the nt10 ive noticed that yes the gun will have issues at lower pressures, with the 11 you can get an operating pressure as low as 110. personally heres my suggestion and this has worked for me and fixed the identical problem. Use the blue insert tip BUT make sure you have one thats drilled out, set your reg to 145psi, dwell at 9ms, and lube everything with a light mixture of dye lube with sleek (i use this on all my markers that i work on and none have issues). make sure that you do NOT exceed 150 psi because it can result in leaking. try this out and post up what happens.

^ did you up your dwell? You need to raise it with the 11 manifold. I run at 11ms in the cold

How early? Do you have the updated spring and spool bumper? Check the sticky up top and read that thread.

Do a complete rebuild then try this:
No spacers
Blue bolt tip
130 PSI
Dwell at 7
When you rebuild it, also remove the solenoid manifold from the solenoid and VERY carefully clean all the air passages.

Last resort would be to send it into Dye.
And have them look it over.
