Zerg is definitely better in that regard than Toss. I still feel they are fairly limited due to a rather ****ty composition of units (corruptors, hydras, ultras all come to mind of units that just arent that good).
Toss I feel simply doesn't have 2 tech paths like terran and somewhat zerg. Late game toss is mostly just a big ball of everything thrown together. Archon, zlot, stalker, sentry, colloseus, templar, and maybe even some immortals. TvT can be a mech vs. bio, bio v bio, mech vs mech, OR air terran is a viable option too. Toss I feel only has one composition, which really limits the types of games that can be played.
Also, the starport never gets used except for harass in most cases.

They need to do what they did with SC:BW...
don't patch things for several years, let the game/players balance itself out.
The last real balance that was done on broodwar was in 2005 to fix some ladder maps. Everything else was to fix bugs/exploits that a lot of custom games revolved around (anyone remember the drone stack/floating map?).. then again, that was still 7 years after the game was released.
Okay, so after all the expansions come out, buff/nerf **** for a couple years, and after that ONLY fix bugs/exploits. PLEASE?

stargates arent used at all except for that early game harass and pretty much not at all after that, thats where i feel like he just flip flopped the names.

Meant stargate, my bad. But yeah, the reasons you listed are why it needs fixed.
Toss air is a joke unfortunately.
More than anything, I dislike the tech routes Toss can take...they just have one really powerful build that everyone uses. Would be nice if that changed.

Pretty sure they had plenty of patches when it was first released to balance everything. With Broodwar the game was completed so they didn't have to worry about anything else coming and messing the game up. Right now SC2 is only 1/3 complete so I don't see it becoming as good as BW until LOTV comes out

This. Right now WOL was terran focused, and as such, Terran feels and is the most complete race.
I'm hoping that HOTS will improve the zerg playability, and eventually we'll see all three races be robust and diverse in their gameplay.

With the current zerg units out in hots, I would say the viper and the swarm host will definitely do that. They will need to balance them of course, but It may looks like vipers will be a must in every army which is kind of scary since they're easy to get and then armies will constantly be having to retreat from the zerg because they will never be able to attack them

I only saw game 1 on GOMtv. Naniwa lost 3-1. Apprently it was mostly MVP doing all-ins the entire time. Naniwa totally ****ed up an awesome build in game 1 and could have easily won if he utilized the ledge position better. Oh well.

game 1 was good, mvp prepared properly and defended everything and naniwa made a few mistakes, but mvp was ahead and that one scan he made helped him win the game. game 2 naniwa nexus first and made 2 cannons mvp did a 3rax all in, ez win. game 3 naniwa won because mvp was doing the build he did in game one and attacked when he should've stayed home. game 4 was crazy good control by mvp and he won with his proxy 2rax even after naniwa scouted it. i might try out that build naniwa did game 1. MVP didn't play standard at all, it almost seemed like he was messing around with tanks

Hopefully in HoTS we see the return of positional play; the kind spider mines + tanks and lurkers produced.

Dunno what you mean by this. I meant to say the positional play Broodwar had, were you'd fight to secure map control and create blockades in strategic locations and choke points with tanks/mines/turrets or lurkers/sunkens. Protoss has always had an A-move deathball style; except they had an easily-accessed mass recall late game to overcome their lack of map control.
Sc 2 has just been an endless waltz of death balls, tech switches and base trades; not that there's anything wrong with that. I just enjoyed the days of waves and waves of protoss units being thrown into Terran blockades; had a real epic feel to it. Same went for mech TvZ.
