I didn't say it was stock. I said it had turbos and fuel, which it does.

His other car is over 4 digits in horsepower and he builds some of the most solid 3S motors in the country. He knows his ****.

More like turbos, exhaust, fuel, EMS and a clutch.

Downpipe and no cats doesn't sound stock and MAF with AFC might as well be EMS. Allows him to tune for the E85 he's running.

He doesn't run e85. In fact, he didn't even run e85 in his 1xxxWHP car when I saw it, because he filled up at a gas station that doesn't even have e85.

Downpipe no cats in the 3S community means gutted precats and cats, generally. It's very common.

Point is it's very minimal modding for a 10 second car that weighs 3700+lbs.

Either way it's not really that close to stock.

Lots of cars run 10's with just turbos and stock motors..

Last time I checked 500+whp isn't "near stock" for a vr4...

Even if it was just those mods, fuel and air are the two mods required to make any kind of power. It's not like he put an air filter, MBC and cranked the boost. It has an AFC, full fuel mods, turbos and exhaust with a clutch.

do i have to post the junkyard 6g72 videos again

Brent ran 11.5s on a junkyard motor. Stock heads, stock block. Made LOTS of power on a single cam 6g72

not sure how the stealth came into the equation on what is stock and what is not but considering they came factory with a forged bottom end and amazing factory heads, they can handle LOTS of power too.

im still around. car hasnt blown up. Made a few videos recently. Chase car was a civic with a stock b series so he didnt really keep up. hopefully this weekend he will be in my car and we can catch some decent footage.

ran my friends wrx again. he was on 20psi i was on 8-12 depending on gear. also ran an s4 @ 18psi with the stock turbos and a tune. The s4 was a fun race, He would get a car on me but once i was in third we neither of us would pull. I didnt like starting at 45mph because i have to jump into 3rd almost right away.. might have been better off starting in 3rd.

first video is just a dig run for fun. AWD cars are meanies

anyone wanna buy an air filter?

the car is in rough shape as far as paint goes, but pictures seem to come put okay.

Some of these are current, others are a few years old

the sohc can handle lots of power in stock form. Its very stout, block is damn near identical to the dohc twin turbo big brother in the 3s cars.

only problem in stock form is the N/A rings have small gaps and like to butt together and ruin pistons. new rings solves that. next problem is cams, stock cams are great for the mini vans they were designed for. not 2600lb dodge shadows with turbos.

im keeping it at 12psi for now and shooting for 300whp. once the new block goes in (if ever) itl have good rings and cams and ill shoot for 450whp on stock bottom end with e85. that is a ways away because before that ill have to get coil overs, lsd, good tires/wheel combo, and all the other fancy stuff that comes with big power in a small car.

Yeah, umm... I wouldn't boost it past 350 until I get some forged internals, whatever those are.

your just going to make the assumption that it needs forged internals to make that kind of power?

1st gen 3000gt dont need forged pistons. the rods are stock forged and the cast crank does just fine at 500whp and the forged one in the later model 3000gt does even better.

good tune and timing that is not crazy saves pistons and makes the car go fast. The only guy to constantly break pistons was running to much timing or too little fuel, and he knew that. Forged pistons would be nice but not needed for 350whp or even 450 if i can keep combustion temps reasonable.

edit: and each time he was over 400whp
