curious about said omni!
if i stick with the fwd dodges, i want to swap a much nicer version of my setup into a clean omni with an lsd and fat *** tires.

Omni's FWD so running fat *** tires isn't really an option.

I wonder if you'd see gains from running a DOHC intake plenum. That thing you have looks weird.

i do have a sohc stealth intake sitting in my garage.. two of them actually. . the 24valve motors have dry intakes and the 12 valves have a wet intake... so we can only use 12v intakes unless we get creative.
i want to make one like this. He used a montero lower intake because it bolts up without modification. the stealth and diamante require modification because they sit the opposite way in their cars than the chrys car.
i really dont want to bother with a new intake unless its a short runner intake.. this little thing makes enough low end for the street as it is.

i got the email for your post but i dont see it?
the motors are flipped in the engine bay. the intake bolts up but this part hits my dizzy. In the stealth the distributor is on the other side of the engine bay so it clears. Only way around this would be to mount the intake backwards and have the plenum go over my front valve cover.. and thats dumb. Or i can grind material off to get it to fit but then i have to figure out how to route my heaterhose sense the feed on the stock intake is on the passenger side.. but with the stealth intake i wont have that feed.

ahh okay
i could get the stealth intake to fit (and i actually planned on it) but i dont want a long runner intake. I could shorten it but id rather get a lower intake from one of the trucks and build a plenum right on top of it. that intake i showed you, above, plus big cams turns these cars into monsters.. but i guess any car would be a monster if setup that way.

It's an Omni GLH, we've got a SOHC, and DOHC neon motor to choose from. Before the project got put on hold, we had wireing ran, interior stripped, Gauge cluster in. It's basically a DD rally car/ice racing car.
OMNI GLH project

deff use the dohc engine Maybe a 2.4 block? my buddies NA 2.4 neon did pretty damn good with just a 2.4 and running way to lean. either way, good idea staying away from the 8 valve.. 2.0 head flow > over 8 valve.
i know of at least one guy who has either a cxs or a glh (maybe both exists) that was AWD swapped and he rallies it. my next real project would deff be either an L body or complete opposite and go with a stealth. I almost bought an 86 shelby charger last summer but the guy did some sketchy junk to it so i just stuck with my 3.0 and dont regret it.

yeah you can make em awd by modifying the drive train from the AWD caravans.
It's been a fun project, I'm just pissed it got put on hold because we were making a ton of progress.
