SFT is clipping balls. I think

have noticed the past couple times I have shot my shocker when I shoot it for a few seconds at full ramp of 12.5 a ball will break. When I stop and check it it seems more like a ball is being clipped instead of breaking in the barrel. I'm saying this cause there's paint all on the bolt front and some in the Venturi face. Am I correct in thinking its clipping balls and how do I fix this problem? I know a few things about shockers but not sure how to fix this problem thanks for the help!!! Merry Christmas!!!

You could have partial double feeds occurring - might want to check on your ball detents.

yes the eyes are working properly. I have some detects on the way so I'm hoping your right and that will fix it uziel. they do seem like they aren't really sticking out enough to hold the ball from moving forward and preventing a double feed.

try replacing your battery. when they get low the eyes start to suck and the gun will begin cycling erratically from insufficient power going to the board and solenoid.

the hopper should be fine it works great on the other guns I own. it's a Blackheart board so I'll just check the eye delay thing if it hasn't hard to remember off hand. as for battery I'll definitely just replace it to be safe. also I have speeds break beam eyes so they do work better then the stock reflective eye does. thanks for the help I'll post back soon when I get the new detents and have gone over the things y'all have suggested

I have speeds eyes in one of my shegos and they do sit a hair higher in the breech than stock eyes. I had similar clipping issues until I raised the bip from 1ms to 4ms. The gun shoots flawless now. I knew my problem wasn't roll back because I have an arb tip and my detents were brand new(so no roll forward)

Arb- anti role back.
Basicly the bolt guide has a tip that doesn't allow the ball to shift, keeps the ball stack straight, which prevents clipping of the next ball in the stack.

You do for the bolt guide tip, could glue an oring or some foam to the bolt face if its not.

You don't need to have a completely open face, just a hole in the middle of the bolt large enough for the arb tip to have clearance. Also you don't want to use foam on the bolt face it just won't last. If you groove the face of the bolt for a #14 oring like nox bolts and use a good epoxy it will be permanent and won't frequently blow out like nox bolts would.

think you'd run into an air flow issue with out the open face?

The oring in the center of the bolt was for the arb. but I like the idea of the oring groove.

If I remember correctly, someone said that the ARB tip made the air move through the bolt faster resulting in a higher FPS (think smaller diameter exhaust pipe on a car = higher exhaust velocity)

^^ I think that's an autococker bolt you're thinking of...never seen a shocker bolt like that (not saying it doesn't exist)

The arb is on the tip of the guide and as far as air flow goes it doesn't do a lot to change fps but when the bolt is forward in the firing position the arb basicly fills up some of the empty space between the guide tip and the ball, thus slightly increasing efficiency if a big enough arb is used. I think cluff actually did some tests with it for efficiency but I can't remember exactly what the results were.
