I was at a practice yesterday and witnessed a Geo2 empty the players hopper like it was in full auto mode. Except that is wasn't. What could cause this?

i just got an ego 10 with about 6k shots through it and i have the .693 barrel back, it doesnt seem that accurate it now has 10k shots on it but i know its not broken in, should i invest in a shaft 4 barrel? and all my timing, filter, like all the dwell settings are stock, also is there anything i can do with the solenoid to make it better?

A combination of trigger settings and having the fire point of the trigger to close to the beginning of the pull.

Up the dwell by .5ms and turn the LPR in 1.5 turn.
Clean the barrel out with extremely hot water. You may also want to try to get a paint that fits the barrel best.

First let me say thanks for everyone answering questions, it's a really great service.
  • I have an Ego8 that I am the original owner of.
  • It's always shot pretty rough. I don't mean in comparison to other high end guns. I mean it's on the same level as a rental tipman 68.
  • I've tried lowering both pressures until the gun doesn't cycle. As soon as I get it to crono it's shooting very rough.
  • It stripped the plastic part of the poppet valve. I replaced the poppet but the gun still shoots very rough.
  • It has ~12 cases through it.
  • All o-rings are oiled and no unusual wear there's no unusual wear and tear that I can see.
  • I've always used a Ninja 68/45 tank that has worked well on my Axe.

What else should I try?

Honestly I am not to familiar with Tadao. Do you have the stock board you can try? Where the eyes on and you were not shooting paint? If so, the board could have gone to default mode.

Set your dwell to 14.
Turn your LPR in so the screw is 1.5 turns in factory flush.
Any aftermarket parts on the 08?

Nope, bone stock. I'll try it tomorrow with some reballs.

Thanks so much.

So the dwell helped but the LPR setting was still too hard. I screwed the LPR waaaaay(~3.5 turns) in and things got better. Is there any down side to this? or does it suggest something else is wrong ?

Only issue you may have is possible drop off at high ROF of prematurely wearing your LPR springs which are cheap and easy to replace.

Hey ego nation I'm looking to buy a used 08 ego locally and was wondering what things to look for being as this will be my first ego. Are there tests to check that all is working correctly and that I'm not getting a lemon?
Thanks in advanced! Feel free to pm too

I have a stock ego 11. Shoots great and efficient. I know it's not broke and I shouldn't fix it. But I have a tech question. I'm at stock sfr settings of 5 and 7. If I drop them 1 a piece to 4/6 will it smooth it out any and still maintain ramp speed of 15bps. Love the gun and the way it shoots stock but being just a bit smoother is always better to me.

Shoot over a chrony. Make sure it is close to 300fps and shoots consistent. Also shoot at a high rof to see if there is drop-off. Otherwise nothing really. They are good guns.

Up dwell by .5
turn LPR in 1/2 turn
Dials in 1 each.

Read something talking about setting the dwell down to 3 to see if it functions...if it does the noid may be bad causing it to over dwell. A?ny truth in this

i would also open it and look to see if the solenoid and seat aren't damaged from the grip screws. its onlt two screws and you just have to peak at the sides

I just purchased an Ego10 with just over 40k shots. Breach wear doesnt look too bad for amount fired. What do you recommend I go with for settings or just set to factory? Im also changing out all o-rings. Thanks

Factory settings for an EGO10 work very well.

I just recently had a problem with my ego 8 with it starting to "vent air" after a while when shooting. It airs up fine just after a couple of shots you hear a vent of air coming from the grip frame, I'm assuming it is the noid venting the air due to over pressurizing but that is just a guess. I tried everything from replacing all the orings and replaced both diaphragms in the QEV. I'm not really sure what is going on but here is the original thread that I posted and has a video in it for what I'm talking about.

thread

Thanks in advance for the help
