Hey Bill, I was wondering why when i screw in my tank to my Ego 08 and turn the knob, air will start shooting out the bottom of the ASA? It does this most of the time but sometimes it doesn't. Ive replaced the oring in the ASA as well. Thanks

Could you help me with that?
The ball acts are a buffer. It would take alot of dry firing but you could snap the exhaust valve aka poppit. Its rare but does happen.

Every gun is a bit different but I would turn your LPR in 1.2 turn, up your dwell by .5, set the board to 12 bps. Then turn the dials down a bit untill it affects the rate of fire.

Are the eyes in your etek3 stock? Are they installed properly? There is a flat side and a side with a nipple. Nipple side in.

Have you changed the battery? I would even if the board registers it being ok.

Have you adjusted the dwell? Should be roughly 14-15. If you go to adjust the board settings, sometimes you may adjust the wrong one by mistake. Please double check.

Are all the parts in the LPR correctly? Should be the screw, pen sized spring, piston and then fatter goldish spring.

Can you easily crush the spring with your hands or is it very sturdy? Do you buy the gun used?

Also, if it works fine, dont change it. The tech poster is a guide and shouldnt be used as GOD...lol

There are two holes in the bottom of the asa. It is leaking from the front or rear?

Front hole: replace the 3 orings on the carrier. 1 - #6 in the front and 2 - #8 on the body.
Rear hole: replace the tank oring.

Hi Bill,

I am new to PE markers. I have recently picked up an Ego 06 with Virtue OLED board. After tearing the gun down giving it a good clean and lube (I did not notice any issues) I took the marker out and tried timing but had no luck. The issue is major inconsistantcy we are talking ranges from 140's to 280's and sometime total drop off. I am not sure if this is caused by the LPR and dwell being totally off or is there some other issue I should be looking for? What should I do first to try to find issue? Thanks

Bill,

I've been having this problem with an ego9. I wrote about it a while back but can't find the post now.

Anyway, the first shot after gassing up is always a click and then subsequent shots are ok. After no shooting for a while(1 min) it will happen again.

Your suggested fixes were:

- LPR body oring change (done)
- New brand named battery (done)
- Checking the pressure going into thru inline reg (consistent)
- Changing the rammer orings (done)
- and finally opening up the solenoid and servicing it (done)

The problem still persisted.

So I went into the board to try to adjust the FSDO Comp to 5.0ms and the FSD delay to 20s.

This helped to fix the issue for a while. After using it in this settings twice, the first shot click came back.

So now I adjusted the dwell to 11 from 10.5.

It seems to be working now.

If it works with all these settings should I leave it as is or is there another fix that I should do instead? I'm not too familiar with board settings.

Thanks

I am running my banjo mod'd ego 7 at lpr 1.5 turns and my dwell at 13. Question is, can dwell or lpr have anything to do with accuracy? Paint was all over the place this weekend, but appeared to be decent quality. I did find a hopper break, but it was bad before/ after the break. I am also using the stock barrel.

I believe Virtue dwell should be set around 14-16 on an 06. Also, regardless what the battery meter reads, change the battery.
I would also recommend a complete oring overhaul.
Lastly, check the condition of the HPR piston seal. It is a plastic disc pressed into the end of the piston shaft. It may be cracked or missing. If so, replace the entire piston.

Sounds like there is debris in the solenoid spool or pilot area. I would suggest swapping out the orings on both. Do you have the plank kit in the EGO9?

I would start with running the barrel under extremely hot water for roughly a minute. It will desolve any paint residue in the barrel.
Swap out the detents.
Swap out the paint. Looks can be VERY deceiving!

If you up the dwell a bit to 14, it may help also.

Hi Bill,

I have an 05 Ego and have trouble getting the velocity up.
When I take apart the HPR the piston seat is loose and I can pull it off the piston. Is this the problem or could something else be causing this?

Bill:
I have an 06 nexus ego. I bought it used and didn't like the grips. I got new grips that fit, however the screws were too short so I (here's where it gets ugly). Went to a hardware store and bought screws of the same diameter but longer. I I tried to use them on my baby . Although they were not sharp ended screws after I screwed them in I noticed some slight bowing of the frame bilaterally where the opposing screws had pushed against each other and wouldnt go in any further. I didn't fire the ego for a few days, and now when I gas up the board lights up as it usually does, but the solenoid doesn't engage when I pull the trigger. My shorts are counted and everything, just the gun doesn't fire. Did I majorly screw up my gun here? What will be required to fix my old baby and what is the approximate price? Sincerely and with thanks,
Michael the NOOB

When I air up my 07 ego, the air rushes out the bolt for like 1-5seconds then seals. Never had this happen before do you know what it could be?

Yes. Plank kits were installed as soon as I got the gun. This was in 2009.

I've clean out the spool of any debris already, when I serviced the solenoid. but not the pilot.

I'll try swapping the orings as see what happens.

Thank you.
