shocker drop off/ball brakes/air issues
Hey all
I just took my shocker out today to get check it out and see how things are and I used the same settings as before and I am starting to now get fsdo and some ball brakes at high rof. Also I am getting a pod out of approx 500 psi.
here is the marker set up
techt bolt w/ spring and both spacers
hater board
new designz ulp firing can
stock bolt guide
Here are my settings
fire mode 1
debounce 5 ms
dwell 9ms
max ROF 15
AMB 3ms
eye delay 4ms
ABS 3ms
These are the settings that I used last summer and now issues are starting. What do you all think I should change to help with the fsdo and the ball brakes if anything.
Thanks all

what pressure are you running. increasing your dwell will certainly help with your drop off issue.
when was the last time it was cleaned very well, including the reg?

Temp is around 70ish, I am running around 120 psi if I had to guess shooting at around 275 to 280.
I just cleaned it the other night and used smartparts lube as I am susposed to. I was thinking that the ABS might need to be increased but I wasn't sure

It's 70 degree's in Canada right now? Man, maybe I should move north! haha
Raise your pressure if it's at 120. It should be around 180-200. That should give you much better results. I find it hard to believe it's shooting 280 at 120 psi.

I would kill the ABS entirely and up your input pressure...120 is way too low even for a sprung bolt.
Try upping the dwell to 10ms and re-check your inline reg. I would guess that something is up with the reg if you have cleaned/lubed/changed the orings for the bolt.

I used it all last summer with these settings and had no problems at all. I turned to ABS up to 5 ms and it seems to be solved but still 500 psi for a pod does that sound right or is there something wrong here?
I also had a few shot skips when I was shooting high rof. The gun would cycle but no ball came out anyone have any ideas?
And I am using it inside lol its about 25 degrees outside lol

500 psi per pod would give you about 7-8 pods per fill, sounds average to me
As for the missed shots, it could be that your eyes are bad or they're not reading the ball in breech (reflective eyes?).
I would put your dwell around 10-12 ms and set the reg to about 180. From there you should be shooting golden

Try gently hammering a punch into it to bring the metal back in, and see if you can remove with the allenkey. or hammer the allenkey into it. But again be gentle. use a soft mallet.

you can probably notch the screws and unscrew them using a flathead driver...

500psi to a pod out of a shocker is actually pretty good. my sft shocker with an evolve bolt kit got similar efficiency. unless if you've got some serious custom work (and by custom i don't mean having it hooked up with off the shelf parts) into this gun you need to turn your pressure up to 180-200psi and adjust your dwell. i've only used the stock nerve board in my shockers, which has no ABS adjustments at all, and with proper lubing of the gun i've never had FSDO, bolt stick, or shootdown issues.
in fact, before you turn your reg up and blow your solenoid try swapping your pressure gauge with one known to work that's accurate. i have a very hard time believing the gun is even able to fire a ball at that low of a pressure with that short of a dwell time.
