I have better things to spend ~100 bucks on then headphones. Honestly just buy a 5 dollar set of gummys and move on with your life.

Honestly I don't see the point of investing a lot of money in earbuds unless you will be traveling with very restrictive space requirements all the time. Just spend the money on good headphones instead.

There is no faster path to the pinnacle of douchery than to wear cans in public.

Right, but the point is that public listening isn't going to be good any way you slice it. Deal with passable sound in a passable environment for a reasonable price and spend the money on over the ears for home listening.

That's like saying you might as well shoot for "passable" sound for your home listening experience because you're better off spending your money renting out a concert hall or recording studio.

It is for some people, just as it is reasonable for some people to plunk down a grand on earbuds.

A good set of in-ears has pretty impressive isolation. I used a pair in college a lot for dorm listening, walking between classes, and library study sessions. I spent way more time using them than fullsize cans and the environment was often quiet enough that you could still appreciate the quality.

A grand on earbuds? Where do you find earbuds for a $1000 and who actually buys them? Top of the line Ultimate Ears, Klipsch, Sennheieser earbuds can be had for $100-$300.

i picked up some shure in ears a few years ago and I think they sound pretty good. Only negative is the 3ft extension that comes with them seems to break down relatively quick..(3 of them in probably....4 years)

We're not talking about bose here, headphones worth the 300 and up price tag do exist.

Yes, but hardly anyone does this. You can also get Ultimate Ears triple fi 10's, and buy a kit to mold them in your ear for like $40.

Besides the initial fit which I didn't like, everything audio was as perfect as I've ever seen from earbuds. If I was going to spend $1k on headphones at all, it would be full over the ear type or I'd better be a musician making a living doing so.

Someone sticky one of these headphone threads, it comes up every week.

Why would anybody spend $80k+ on a car? Same answer.

I don't want to start a pissing contest, but every single person I've met who owns them (myself included) agrees that they're well worth the price.

If you're talking about bose being worth the price then you and the people you know have never actually listened to a set of quality headphones, or you just have horrible ears.

Some people spend more of their conscious lives with headphones on or earbuds in than they do without them.

If it sounds better and is far more comfortable, why wouldn't you?
