Best Paintball state(s)?

I don't know if Paintball has died down or anything, but where I live in New Jersey, it seems like no one Paintballs. Are there any good states that have a high uhm.. "demand" for Paintball? I can't find ANY store near me that refills C02 - So I am screwed on that.

I plan on moving, but help me deicde where to move, thanks.

Also - In your opinion, has Paintball died down from when it first started, or do you think more people like it?

California has a lot of fields but moving to a state solely for paintball is a terrible idea.

California hands down. So many stores/fields, companies, pro teams and events that come from there. I would say NJ and PA are pretty popular as far as teams and fields go. NJ had a few fields close down in the past few years but they're still a lot of teams there

i was about to say NJ is pretty large on paintball. the reason paintball seems to be dying down is we're in a recession. a lot of people are struggling to simply keep the lights on and food on the table. there is simply no room for the expense of paintball. about the only people i see playing now are young children who are accompanied by well off older folk. as the younger kids grow up they're going to gain responsibilities and hopefully someone down the line is going to make them foot their own bills. happened to me and i couldn't afford paintball anymore since i wasn't getting anything out of it other than my own personal enjoyment. doing cocaine probably would have been cheaper than continuing to play paintball the way i was.

California does seem to have quite a few fields, but when you look at the number of paintball fields compared to the size of the population, California probably has less fields per capita than just about every other state.

But because of that, the fields are probably better attended, so it at least appears like California's paintball scene is stronger than most other states. And when it comes down to it, from a player's perspective, well attended fields are what you want.

I am going to have to agree with everyone that has posted so far, California seems to have a solid player base and performs well in every event.

But, OP, what part of NJ are you in? Because I know Topgun Paintball in Jackson (right by Six Flags Great Adventure) is well attended. So is On Target Paintball down in Pemberton.

I live in jersey and every time i go to my field there seems to always be a decent amount of people there. I play at Paintball Authority and right down the street use to be fireball mountain which just sold and changed to long live paintball and they seem to be doing fine all the time too.

Assault, revo, revo 2, syndicate, dc arsenal, dc monstars, chaos company = maryland teams.

Revo- won d3x series. 1st at Texas, 5th Chicago, 2nd NJ, 1st at cup
Revo2 - won Chicago, NJ, and cup.
Syndicate- 2nd Chicago (to revo2)
Assault- won d3x 2010, bumped to d1, got 3rd at Chicago, 4th at NJ
Dc arsenal- pro lol
Monstars- 3rd Texas.
Towson, UMD, Penn state- 3 college teams that are good

All these teams come from 1 field- a field that LIFT, the new jersey jesters, ATL Breakout, dc dev (anyone remember them? Justin rabackoff, Kevin Rudulph, and a few other pros first team) all have came or currently practice at Paintball Adventure Park. Plus, the axbl was played here last season and 2 seasons before.

Oh I'm not even mentioning the fact that at OXCC on the otherside of Maryland has a good 3-4 NPPL squads and a few Psp teams there.

Yeah, Maryland is in the running.

For your question about paintball dying down utah (where im from) definately took a huge hit in about late 2008 early 2009. Had a field close and a lot players disappear. But over the past little while it sounds like its picking up again.

The Carolinas have to fit into this list somewhere. If you live on the North and South Carolina border... then you have a lot of options for both rec and tourney play.
