Agreed. I've seen a lot of Rails with problems. Both the G4 and Mini are good guns, I prefer the G4 but lots of people like the Mini. Try and shoot both and see what you like. You should also look at the Mokul Aura in that price range.

Not sure of the G4 but I'm pretty positive the Mini is like the Axe which makes it an inline poppit.

That could have been a number of things with the Mini, likely user related/improper maintenance.

The thing with the mini is that you really have to understand how the gun operates. The design is really a combination of your typical gun designs. I know that the MaxOC Tuning Guide (a thread somewhere on nation that I have bookmarked) is a great place to go and learn everything you need to know about the gun. Without the proper combination of dwell, backcap velocity, and regulator pressure, your mini isn't going to shoot well at all.

Here is the tuning guide...props to MaxOC for his hard work on getting this out there for all the mini owners. The main reason the mini has received so much hate is because a lot of owners never took the time to research how the gun worked. Read the manual for any gun you buy...kills me when guys don't know their gun!

This, along with various other mini forums, may be helpful if you're considering purchasing a mini. This forum is a troubleshoot / don't look like an idiot at the field type of forum. I'll be honest with you though, the only real downfall of the mini (in MY opinion) is the board. It does the trick, and if you're a set it and leave it kinda guy it is great. However, if you wanna make quick changes, and make them all the time, then the mini can be a bit of a slow down.

This is as good of an explanation as it gets. They really aren't difficult to work with, it just takes a little work (like any gun) to figure out how it all works. I guess I'm not sure what exactly you want me to explain though. I know you're new (we all were at one point right!?), but my best piece of advice is to go shoot them at a local dealer. Don't borrow your buddies G4, Rail, or Mini that he hasn't ever cleaned or lubed. It really comes down to preference. Another final word of advice for the mini is that there were 3 versions made. The first version there were many issues to be worked out, but as the second and third came out, they already had the changes implemented. The biggest problem with Invert is that they never told anyone they were making these changes. Owners that pulled apart their minis slowly figured that out on their own.
