Empire Sniper Low Pressure?!?!!?

I'm looking into getting a pump gun and I instantly fell in love with the Empire Sniper in my proshop. I was reading the specs and it said it runs only low pressure. Just for clarification, does this mean I cannot run my Empire 68/45 tank with it? Will I have to buy a new tank for the pump because I use my 68/45 for my Ego 11? Thanks

Ok, So you own an EGO 11 but don't understand low pressure? just to get you on track. It does'nt say runs ONLY low pressure it say's Low Pressure Operation. that means for say a pump in general the pressure is under 350-250psi.Some pumps start at say 850psi and everybody works to get them somewhere under 400psi. bottom line is it has nothing to do with pressure for your tank. Now if you had a BoB Long you would need a L/P tank. your fine with the tank you have. And your "proshop" should have explained that to you.

•Tournament Level Performance pump marker
•Low Pressure Operation
•Auto-Trigger for rapid firing
•Aluminum 2-piece 14″ barrel
•3 Barrel inserts .675, .680, .685
•Autococker barrel threading
•Includes 10-round feed system for stock play
•Removable vertical pump assist plate
•Delrin pump handle and sled
•Vertical feed design
•300 psi gauge can be placed on either side
•Inline regulator with swivel adapter
•T-mounted On/Off ASA with bleed
•Dual stainless steel pump rods for maximum stability
•45 Frame molded wrap around grips with finger grooves

Thanks for the clarification. The seller I was reading the description said it ran on low pressure so I was confused if he meant low pressure operation or I needed to get a new reg

I would be careful with a high pressure tank. I pre-ordered the sniper pump and spoke to an empire rep that mentioned hp is really hard on the seals and reg, which means it'll technically work but cause more wear and require more maintenance. I just use my ninja slp from my g6r for this sniper. My roommate has a sniper too and runs an lp tank at 230. I run mine at 190 and we both chrono the same and consistently at (+-5) 285.
Also, you don't have to buy a whole new tank. You can find cheap lp regs around and swap it with your current tank - or invest in a 50/4500 ninja

btw, besides being a bit loud and a little stiff of a pump action this is a truly awesome pump!

ps
your 68ci/4500psi tank makes no difference in what pressure your reg outputs.

hmmmm... if i do decide to get one, i'm switching the reg out. alot cheaper then to buy another tank or the hassle of switching regs back and forth. that coming from a rep seems odd, don't you want to talk up your product???

Yeah, reps do talk up their products, but they also have specific recommendations - particularly bob long. I just always follow manufacturers' recommendations. After all, user error is the #1 reason markers need repairs.

No paintball marker should be incapable of functioning just fine on a HP tank.

ive never understood why it ever really mattered to begin with tho (as far as the guns opperation post 2nd HPR). once you run air HP or LP tank thru the 2nd HPR does it not just come out at the 2nd HPRs set PSI?

the only reg design that i could see failing due to an HP tank are ones with schraeder valves which are garbage (bob long)

Some companies just built their regs to withstand certain inputs. Its kind of gimmicky, and required the user to buy their (conveniently priced) gun+tank package. On the other hand, making a reg that doesn't have to work as hard generally means it will be more consistent.

Thus they should. Back in the day the CW was minimum ~200 psi pressure difference from the tank reg to the gun reg. I'm sure higher flowing/better performing regs have changed that somewhat.

I was starting to like not having to worry about the old "is it LP or HP" question when buying tanks, but apparently it's starting again. Sigh.

Right? Though now its more of a suggestion than a requirement.

If a reg is the way you decide to go with pick up a CP reg they can handle a 900 psi input.
